I know we had the introvert/extrovert thread, but how bout this - would you call yourself more of a watcher or a liver?

Grilled liver and onions is a meal that most people reject out of reflex,  but it's actually very tasty.

I'd like to try it properly prepared, but my childhood memory of wednesday L&O is too harsh for me to even imagine trying. me ma was irish and they like their meat well-cooked. when she dished it out da frypan, there werent nothin left but the iron & the stank.

MIL tried to make it once (long time ago) in a crock-pot. They opened the pot up, and decided to go out for dinner. She gets teased about it to this day.

Watcher, not really happy to admit it but its true. But better to be watching than dead which i almost was.

ETA: i f'n hate liver but my Dad loved it.

Preparation certainly makes a difference.

People think i'm the liver type cuz i got all these stories, but most of those took place within 5 years out of 60+ and were largely the result of careening bits of Dickensian luck. Watcher in extremis am i.

3 for 3 so far

Liver isn't a crock pot type of meat,  there's no fat in it.  It needs to be sautéed on a pan at medium-high heat.  Cook through but don't overcook.

It's weird that when someone is belittled they'd say "What am I - chopped liver?"

That should be a compliment, chopped liver is delicious!

They are damn good stories though. More than most people.

I seem to run in stretches of watching or living.  I wanted to say I watch and then choose spots in which I live, but that's not true.  I think maybe it's that I live hard and then take a break, watching, then dive in again after sorting out the damage that was done.
