Looking for 2008 predictions of buy low players (1 Viewer)

Leagues may be nearing the trading deadlines, so I thought I'd see what others thought...

QB - Marc Bulger - As long as he survives this year and his O-line comes back in 08, he has a good shot to bounce back into the top 5

RB - Maurice Jones-Drew - I've been a Fred Taylor fan for many years, but I see MJD getting 20 touches per game in 2008

WR - Dwayne Bowe - Eddie Kennison has been known as a consistent (although unspectacular) FF scorer for many years as KC's WR1, but Bowe now holds that title

TE - Vernon Davis - SF's offense has been pitiful thus far, but VD is still the physical freak many drooled over; look for a nice finish in 2007 and a great 2008

So, who are you targetting in late season trades, hoping to start off 2008 with a bang?

Maroney, when Brady gets the TD record this year, there will be no need to pass pass pass all the time in future years. Plus as he grows and matures, his workload will grow and his # will be called more often for TD opportunities. The only reason his TDs are low this year is because of Bradys pursuit for the record. Just like Edges #s suffered the year Manning pursued it. Dont freak out about the TDs this year, Brady will regress back to his mean and rushing TD #s for NE will shift back towards their mean after the record is his.

What about Berrian... he will be one of the few UFA WRs avalible next yr; he may be worth a look if he goes to a good team.

Definitely Harrison. His demise is far off base he's just hurt. He'll still be a starter with manning chucking the ball.

Julius Jones is a UFA after this year and he'll find a starting gig somewhere. However, with the draft class of RBs coming out I expect every team that isn't deep at RB to get at least one so there'll be competition but he should be the starter at the beginning of '08 whereever he ends up.

Aaron Rodgers will be starting either next year or in '09 and has looked very, very good. Plus, he'll be entering an offense which will have some young solid WRs.

Jake Delhomme looked very good at the beginning of this year. I don't think Carolina will be able to solve their issues at QB and replace him. He can be had very cheap for a back up who may end up being a top 10 QB.

The Schaub owner may have given up on him as well.

At WR, Berrian has been mentioned. He is a very good WR when he has a QB who isn't rattled. I don't know if Chicago will fix their QB issues next year, but Berrian should be a solid WR3 in '08.

Minnesota will draft a QB high next season. I'd expect Sidney Rice to be the benefactor there although I don't know how much it would take to get him but he's still relatively iffy as a keeper. In dynasty I doubt he'd be available.

Donald Driver, I mentioned the Qb situation in Green Bay earlier. Driver isn't having a top 10 year this season. There's too many weapons for Favre and Driver's #'s are hurting. If you can get him for a WR3 price, he will be a solid WR2 next year and the rest of this season as well.

Darrell Jackson owners have given up on him. Why not take a shot. He's still talented. Eventually they have to get their offense in rhythm again. Kind of the same arguement with Vernon Davis above.

DeAngelo Williams will be the starter eventually and would be a good bye week backup if he's available at a reasonable price.

Remember, around each league's draft is when draft pick values reach their peak. You can usually get solid, proven veterans for 1st and 2nd round draft picks as many owners buy into the pre and post draft hype. If you have a late 1st round pick, why not trade it for a proven commodity instead of hoping that you land a player that can eventually become a starter. Although there will be a lot of RBs available in '08, unless a certain starter falls to you, you'd likely be able to move that pick.

These 2 are very good 2008 buy lows IMO.JJ will not be in Dallas next yr... and where ever he goes; he will get more touches than he does in Dallas, increase his value. JJ may never be an FF RB#1; but could become a very nice #2 next season.Look at the WRs who are going to be UFA next season... Besides Moss (and I think the Pats will resign him); Berrian is really the only other established one out there; plus the rook class isn't very deep at the WR position unlike last yr. Which means talent like BB will be in demand.I don't think he and CHI-town will agree on a price since Chi doesn't like to pay their players and he will be on a new team next yr (can he be Tagged; I don't think so?)... That could be Good or Bad depending on where he goes. But its worth a look.

Sid Rice. Hopefully he's quiet for the rest of 2007 and keeps his 2008 price low.

this assumes the Vikes have someone better than my mom throwing the ball for them next year, which they should.

I think KJ will still be a buy-low. Owners are still worried about the Lis Franc, but guy is a top 10 dynasty RB. Will probably be off the board in the end of 3rd/beginning of 4th round, which is crazy IMO.

Vince Young and Matt Leinart are the two i've been fawning over.

It's already too late for Santonio Holmes, don't know why he's getting mentioned, it isn't like you can buy him low.
