Greetings.
I cover sports for the Wall Street Journal in LA and am putting together a piece on high stakes fantasy football leagues - both "commercial" ones like WCOFF and hi-end private leagues among friends. I've heard stories for years about leagues on Wall Street or in Hollywood that charge up to $100,000 per owner, are famously competitive and have big post-season parties in Vegas. For this feature, I'm looking to spotlight a few particularly high end leagues -- ideally with entry fees in the $10,000-$25,000 range -- and chat with owners. I'd very much like to hear about notable leagues that people are dying to get into, whether to schmooze with finance titans or law-firm partners, just because they're insanely competitive and will do anything to beat another Type A wealthy executive.
Any and all examples of league disputes and trash talking would be great. I can always be reached at jonathan.weinbach@wsj.com
Thanks,
Jon
