Looking for your help - Who will be the Top 20 RBs in 2009? (1 Viewer)

Predict the Top 20 RBs for 2009

I wrote an article last year called Predicting the Top 20 fantasy RBs for 2008. I'll provide my results and accuracy below, but here's what I'm looking for out of you, if you're interested...

State your Top 20 RBs for 2009. I will compile a spreadsheet of everyone's choices and take the 20 RBs who were selected most. It will be interesting to see in January how your results will not only compare to the end of season rankings, but also my predictions for 2009. I will compile the data at the end of the last preseason game and post my article shortly thereafter.

If interested, please copy and paste the below Top 20 list (including tie-breaker), insert your predictions and copy your list into a new post in this thread. Your list of RBs does not have to be in any particular order. Results are based on non PPR guidelines and use FBG standard scoring method of 1 pt per 10 yards rushing/receiving, 6 pts per TD (rush/rec/passing)

Not too bad. At least I predicted over 50% (60% to be exact) and I bested the Footballguys projections just slightly. Maybe we can provide a 2010 subscription or an entry to the 2010 Staff vs. Message Board Survivor League to the member who predicts the most RBs in the 2009 RB Top 20. Be sure to include your tie-breaker

Don't be afraid to go out on a limb with some of your predictions. Who will be this year's Steve Slaton or Le'Ron McClain? History suggests at least two will be a surprise. Who will it be?

I'm not a stats guy but I'm wondering how many times a team has had 2 RB's in the top 20. Not saying it's a stretch but wondering how many times that has happened..

This is a league of RBBC now, so I can see a it happened a lot in the future where it didn't happen all that much in the past. Last year LenDale and CJ3 were top 20, same with DeAngelo and StewartETA: Looks like Stewart wasn't top 20, but real close - either or, it makes my point. This year I could see Bush and Thomas both pushing into the Top 20 (although I have them pre-season 21 and 22 so they're not in my list above)

Interesting you have Stewart at 14 and no DeAngelo. I'm not as high on DeAngelo as most (I have him at 14 myself), but I can't see him finishing outside of the top 20 unless he gets injured.

D'oh! That was an oversight. Did this in a bit of a hurry. I'm not high on him either, but I too expect him in the top 20. Looking at my list it is hard to take out a player. I guess I'd probably take out Lynch. Oh well, its all a crap shoot anyway. By the way, this isn't how I rank them, just my top 20.

Can those of you that have JStew ranked high give your take as to why? Isn't he having some injury problems again? And even if he is ok - why so high since he'll likely be getting no more than 50% of the carries? Are you thinking he'll get a huge amount of TDs? Your take would really helpful, no criticism here - just looking to learn.

Tough, and weird, exercise...funny who you fight to make a case for those last few slots. Probably not a lot of difference between 18-24. With 3 Tandems and some oddballs, I'm probably way off base here, but being a Contrarian can be fun sometimes!

Predict the total rushing yards from the league's rushing leader in 2009: 1734
I'm not a stats guy but I'm wondering how many times a team has had 2 RB's in the top 20. Not saying it's a stretch but wondering how many times that has happened..
In non ppr I'm almost positive LenWhale + Chris Johnson did it last year.
probably in any format as well.. I was more curious than questioning it..
