Looking to buy a pinball machine... (1 Viewer)

I want to buy a pinball machine. However, I would like to buy it under the pretext that it is for my business. I own a retail establishment and would like to purchase it to have at my place of business for customers or employees in their down time. Anyone know how to go about buying one?

Another option is one of these: http://www.virtuapin.net

You can buy them ready-to-go from there, or, if you are comfortable with building a computer and some basic electronics, wiring, and woodworking, can build your own. I found an empty widebody pinball machine cabinet from a restorer who had parted out all the table and game pieces, put the PC in myself, and stripped down a 46" TV and 2 computer monitors to build my own for about $2K. Keep it in my home office. Have 100+ different games inside. Love it. But not everyone goes for the digital games and prefers "real" pinball.
Was going to post this. These are unreal. So many different ones to choose from.

Need to see a video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3r518SKfnr8

I just bought my first one on CL for $400 a few months ago. It is a solid state machine from 1984 (KIngs of Steel). It has been a project machine but I have enjoyed working on it and have it working pretty well now. I am looking to get a newer one but the prices are scaring me away.

Honestly, I want to get one of the Walking Dead pinball machines coming out. But as I look at the stuff out there I remember playing The Getaway and loving it. Might even be interested in the Metallica one that came out last year.

Pinball is the greatest arcade game ever. Kids would play Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat and I was playing pinball. These new 3D ones, I never knew much about however that is an investment I can live with. Give me 20 games that I used to play and some in the future and I will have my arcade.

In no particular order: http://www.ipdb.org/lists.cgi?anonymously=true&list=top300

- The Addams Family

- Funhouse

- Jurassic Park

- Terminator 2

- Pin-Bot

- Cyclone

- Star Wars 1992

- Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends by Data East

- X-Files

- South Park

- Mars Attacks

Ever since a few arcades closed in my area, I really have no idea where to go to play pinball. Dave and Busters don't have any or if they do they suck. I really have no idea where to go.

Can't believe no one has mentioned my all time favorite...Medieval Madness

That and Addams Family are the teets.

Another vote for twilight zone

I use the vpinmane emulator on my mane cabinet sometimes, but it's nothing like that video

I bought an Addams family a year ago and it is my favorite thing that I have ever bought. That being said, it is a 20+ year old game so it does need a lot of tlc and maintenance. Twilight Zone was made by the same designer, but it harder to find and they are notoriously finicky.

Of the pins that have come out recently, Metallica, Avengers, the new star trek, and AC/DC are the best, as stern has started to put some thought into the game rather than just cranking them out as marketing pieces (see Transformers). Walking Dead may be real nice (it is generating some buzz) but we will have to see what happens.

Hope this helps.

Twilight, A ddams Family are both awesome, but my all time fave is Bram Stoker's Dracula. Awesome game, great multiball options. So fun.

Really intrigued by those VirtuaPin units. I already have a MAME cabinet with a gazillion arcade ROMs as well as all of the original NES ROMs. A VirtuaPin would be a nice compliment. Have any of you actually played on one?

I haven't played a VirtuaPin-branded one, but I built one myself out of parts. It's fun enough. I like the variety over owning just one machine. You can get into it, but you'll never get the real feeling of looking down on a real machine.
How "real" does it feel? Are there buttons for flippers, does the tv look real enough or what stands out to make it not feel real?

Very real. It comes with a facade of your mother's basement, a stack of dog-eared Hustler magazines, and unlimited Friday and Saturday nights with no plans.

Or, its a tall glass of Spanish Fly that the lady will love, enjoy and wear yoga pants while playing it. Have to look at the upside.

Seven Seas is a great 1959 pinball machine. They made 600 of them.

They are pricey bc of scarcity in many cases. Addam's family was the biggest selling machine so there are still a lot out there. Others with more limited runs are more (Twilight zone for instance is a bigger box than Addam's family with fewer units produced. They are about 3K more)

Just did some repairs on my Addam's family machine. They always need some tinkering and cleaning from time to time...
