My guess is to grab RB's and then go best player available.

I am surprised with all of the know it all's here, somebody could help a brother out. ;)

Strangely, in most of the moronic leagues that are run these days, Seahawk's post actually makes a lot of sense. There is no "strategy" whatsoever, regardless of your draft position. Just draft a RB, draft another, and for good measure just keep drafting them. If you pick up a wideout and a quarterback along the way, so be it. Just make sure you get more halfbacks after that.Dumb.

I think most of us look at that string of numbers and have little clue what the #### you are asking. Is that a list of what pick you have in each round? Do you randomize it or something.

If you're looking for an idea on how to come up with a draft strategy, there are dozens and dozens of threads and posts here that go over such things to show how to do it for yourself. If you want a suggestion of one to start with, go see my post in this thread: http://forums.footballguys.com/forum/index...p;#entry5349790

Honestly, I thought this was another one of the threads making fun of all of the draft slot threads. But now I'm thinking you're serious. If so, as Greg says, you need to tell us more.

It must be ####ty thread day here at FBG.Actually looking at the first few pages it's been ####ty thread month.
The best discussions happen before the one-month wonders come out of hibernation and re-introduce threads that were already discussed five different ways before the end of June.I was hoping that had changed (as I had not been involved much in the forums for 3+ years until last September). Alas, I have been disappointed.

Preseason must be wearing people down. Short fuses or what. Yes those are my draft picks by round. Chosen by a computer. I think it's dumb, but wanted other people's insight.

Its a lovely idea. It just looked like a cross between the Super Duper Jumbo Fantastic PowerLottoBall, your IP address and the astronomical location of Scrotus 417.

looks like you are in trouble.... sounds like you already know what to do though... grab RBs... go for someone like Rudi who's been real stable the last couple of years in rnd 1.... your early round picks are so far apart i'd consider going RB, RB, RB... maybe if you can snag Gates w/ the 15th pick of the 3rd go for it... you don't have any close picks till late in the draft so hancuffing any RBBCs will probalby be tough... GL... post your team when you're done

I think this approach, while random, stinks. I guess it works out on average, so if you do enough drafts this way, you'll probably see things even out. But it would probably take years.I'd much rather see it work out that the random number determines the odd-numbered drafts, while the even-numbered drafts work off of the paired serpentine opposite of the random number:15 in round 5 means automatically you get 2 in round 6At the very least, it would be nice if when you get a top 4 pick for one round, you have to be placed in the bottom 8 the next round. Similarly, a bottom 4 pick in one round requires a top 8 pick in the next round. Your league, your rules, so whatever.I know that doesn't help with this year's draft strategy, but I'm not sure what I can possibly say that you don't already know. Draft the best players you can, don't reach because that will just make it worse, don't panic because some players tend to slide a few picks each round. Hopefully that's enough for those three consecutive rounds where you're picking nearly last.

Weird draft, 16 man league. Would love the FBG's opinions on this strategy.
Picks 8,9,15,16,13,9,1,2,6,6,10,13,4,16,2,16,141.8 Best RB available depending on your rules2.9 Best available RB/WR depending on your rules3.15 Man did you get screwed in this league...best value RB/WR4.16 Maybe you could just wait till the entire league is done drafting and then get all the picks in the 16th and 17th round. Best value no matter the position5.13 Write your check out to whoever got the top picks for all the rounds6.9 Crack open a beer, guzzle, finish guzzling, wash rinse repeat.7.1 Trade down8.2 Trade down9.6 Trade down10.6 Trade down11.13 Trade up12.13 Miami Dolphins13.4 New England Patriots14.16 Chad Pennington to go with Byron Leftwich15.2 Good time to reach for Bobby Engram16.16 PK17.14 Sign that check you filled out back in round 6

I think most FBGs will agree with these selections in order:

8 Ronnie Brown

9 KJones

15 Dillon

16 Gore

13 Maroney

9 D.Williams

1 Gado

2 Morency

6 Betts

6 Jones-Drew

10 Lundy

13 Davenport

Now take your other positions:

4 Romo

16 Gabriel

2 Ferguson

16 Packers

14 Lindell

This is the recipe for most drafts these days, regardless of your weird lotto league.

My best advice would be find another league. Or get the current one to adopt some rules that are, what's the word I'm looking for?

Fair.

don't listen to these guys.

i had a league where they did the same thing and i got screwed on draft position.

just follow your rankings, find the value picks that always end up falling, and draft like normal.

Gawd that's a bummer. best value fer shoor--but with that kind of sequence in rounds 3-5 I would definitely look to make a splash early with Peyton Manning if he's there at 1.08. At least you've got an edge at one of the spots. Then again--if it's all Sharks in that nonsense maybe Portis will be there, and at 8 he's likely worth the dare.

Really, looking at it it's those 3-5 rounds which put you behind the eight ball--the rest are sort of in line. It's just too bad those three rounds are often the critical ones.
