This is a question all of us must ask ourselves if we get to select where we draft. Should we go for the stud at 1,2,3 and then waaaaait for the pick at 24 (long wait) or would it be better to draft late in round 1 and follow it up with an early 2nd rder. Now this is based on a league I am in, so it may differ for you a bit, but basically would you rather...

1.01 and 2.12

lt/lj/sa and gates/harrison/jjones/parker/boldin/kjones

or

1.10 and 2.03

tiki and caddy/s.smith/westbrook/c.johnson/ddavis

very important question to ask ourselves for the 2 studs on our teams.

It all depends on the league/s that you are in and what players you can in fact get at those positions.

In a league I am in, as much as I love Johnson and Shaun Alexander, I know that I'm going to get a player I like a lot at 1.9 or 1.10 (due to the fact that it's likely Peyton Manning and another player or two I'm not high on will go before that selection, believe it or not). With that in mind, I'd take it and then jump all over the best player available early in round two.

But, in most leagues with smart owners, I'd probably go with the elite #1/2/3 pick, because I'd doubt my ability to get great value at the 1.9 or 1.10 spot.
