Making Change: How can we petition NFL to not have 6-team bye weeks Wk. 14 in the future? (1 Viewer)

Anybody have any bright ideas how to persuade the NFL to not have a 6-team bye week the last week of the FF regular season moving forward?

It really is an unnecessary minefield to have to navigate one of the biggest weeks of the year.

There are over 60 million fantasy football players in North America- that’s enough of a voice to make change.

Why the NFL doesn’t just have each division off 4 teams at a time from weeks 5-12 is beyond me.

You know what's a lot worse? That's the second week of the playoffs and LCG for all FFPC redraft leagues. Not sure if any of the other high stakes leagues are also similar.

I don't expect the NFL to cater their schedule for fantasy players but I sure expect an adjustment from fantasy leagues.

My week 14 opponent and I are tied for first, the bye will be on the line, and he's got both QBs (Lamar and Daniels) and his RB1 (Brian Robinson Jr) on a bye. It's keeping my hope alive.

It would be like sending a petition to your local crack dealer. Or, on the heels of a Festivus reference, the Soup Nazi.

When you have a product that people are going to consume no matter what, customers don't get to make special requests.

I'm not sure if this is true or not, never really thought it through, but I'm thinking that allowing the bye weeks to vary makes for far, far more (maybe even orders of magnitude more) different full schedule possibilities. If that's true then it helps to get a better schedule put together, having so many more total schedules to choose from, and pros and cons in each one.

(But even having the universal bye week that you're proposing, I'm sure there would still be a tremendous number of schedules to choose from.)

Anyway, I still discuss my team and the game threads.

I didn't know I wasn't allowed to not have opinion on bye weeks in week 14, because I don't play anymore. I have many reasons I don't play anymore, one of them is weekly Thursday games if you must know.
But it was just a joke about not playing anymore.

No way in hell they'll ever have LESS games.

Should go to 18 and everyone gets 2 bye weeks. Take away the week in between the superbowl. That pushes the season back exactly 1 week and means no one has to go to work the morning after the superbowl.

I think this is a funny post because I believe you are serious. This year the week 14 bye may not work in your favor but next year who knows.

• Those that drafted players or picked up players on a week 14 bye had the advantage of not worrying about bye weeks 13 weeks of the schedule.
• With that advantage in FFB comes with the actual players didn't get a rest week closer to the mid point of the season to heal/rest.
• You and others with playoffs on week 14 placed a premium on winning the regular season games over the playoff schedule bye implication.
