Marcedes Lewis (1 Viewer)

Grahamburn

The Jacksonville TE started off the year with 2 TD catches for 31 yards, which many of us probably chalked up as a fluke, but he followed that up with 5 receptions for 70 yards on an eye popping 9 targets. Although 7 of those targets came in the second half when the Jaguars were well behind and forced to throw it's good to see that they're at least willing to use him in their passing game.

If you're looking for some help at the TE position Marcedes Lewis might be your guy. The Jags play the Eagles this week who just gave up 7 receptions for 108 yards to Brandon Pettigrew.

He is on my radar for sure but I chalked up week 1 as a fluke after getting burnt last year on Rosario and Robert Royal who were indeed flukes.

He's definitely on my radar because Heath Miller is not getting it done. I'm also considering Aaron Hernandez (NE) and Tony Moeaki (KC).

Right now Miller is my only TE and our league charges $5 per pickup so I'd like to keep Miller and drop a WR. I just looked and New England has the same bye as Pittsburgh so I guess it's between Lewis and Moeaki.

Lewis 7-101-2 (11 targets)

Moeaki 8-79-1 (14 targets)

Tough call but I think Moeaki might be the guy because they have an earlier bye week (4) then Jax (9) so I can dump Miller earlier if I have to. Plus Moeaki went 5-58-0 in week 2 with 10 targets.

I'm going to watch and wait another week as well, however he has piqued my interest. Lewis has always been billed as an talented player but he has never produced consistently enough to break through. He's on my radar along with Moeaki, Pettigrew, and the NE rookies.

One note about Moeaki. As an University of Iowa grad I'm quite familiar with Moeaki. He's a talented pass catching TE, but I don't think he ever played a full year any of his years at Iowa. He's made of glass and is almost a sure bet to get dinged up sometime in the season. Pick him up but be aware that he's probably more likely to go down sometime during the season than some of these other players, especially if he continues to see a high number of targets.

I hope someone with a higher waiver priority goes and picks him up.....so I can pick up Hernandez instead.
The Patriots really spread the ball around in the passing game. I don't think you can count on Hernandez to be consistent, and he will definitely lose red zone snaps to Gronkowski. You may not be able to count on Lewis for consistency either, but at 6'6 275+ you know he'll be a red zone threat, and it looks like the Jaguars are going to utilize him between the 20s as well. Those of you that are going to "wait another week" may miss out on a potentially big game against the Eagles. If he does manage to put up nice stats he's going to be on everyone's radar.

Not sure why so many people are "waiting" on Dallas Clark Aaron Hernandez.

Hope this thread was not the kiss of death for Lewis. I picked him up last week and was rewarded with decent production. He is the #3 TE in our leagues scoring system. Hope he is just a little above average the rest of the way! 14 team deep league and the pickings are slim!

i picked up lewis and carlson after my frustration with keller and watching the NYJ on MNF  'oh:

carlson is getting a ton of targets and seems to be hass's primary focus, but the seattle offense is just anemic with no running game

i didn't like lewis' 2 target in week 1 eventhough they both went for TDs, but his 9 targets in week 2 is reassuring. if MJD continues to struggle and has knee problems (just speculation), i look for lewis to get a few more red zone/goalling opportunities. i like the fact that he had a great camp too. lewis should be a steady producer and probably still has another 6 TDs in him over the remainder of the season.

What are people doing with Lewis now?

he had a nice little stretch, but it just looks like he's fading.

This is the time of year to get the max production from every position, so I wonder if Lewis owners are holding or folding?

It does?
Well, disappointing anyway especially with MSW being out/limited. He hasn't had two weeks of as few as 9 targets with no TD's all year.He had one or more red zone target for 8 out of the first 9 weeks. Now he has one in the last 4 weeks altogether and none in the last 2 weeks. Two straight weeks of 3/36/0 is not encouraging, that's for sure.Oh yeah, edit: I forgot to mention he dislocated his thumb at practice.

Considering the lack of MJD and a hobbled (possibly absent as well) MSW, Lewis should receive a large up-tick in targets this Sunday. Anyone think it's crazy to call him a top 3 TE?

Hes ranked 3rd in points for TE's in my league so no, not crazy
