Marcus Trufant - Why no love? (1 Viewer)

FBG currently has Marcus Trufant as the #45 ranked DB and Dave Baker & John Norton don't even have him in their top 60 Last year he was #8 in my league in scoring, I don't see enough of a diffence in situation for him to justify the huge dropoff this year. Any thoughts?

I think the main reason why is because he is now playing in his third season in the NFL. He has proven himself as a reliable (soon-to-be) shutdown CB and not a liability to the defense.QB's are not going to be going his way as often as before and he will have less potential at tackles, INT's and pass deflections. In the end it goes back IDP 101, bad CB's score more than a better all-around CB. RAPTURE

I agree with Rapture that his numbers will drop some but I am thinking about keeping him myself with Mike Brown & dropping Tony Parrish in a 2 DB keeper league. Last year he totaled 250 points in my system and the #45 DB scored 179. I can't see his production falling off that much myself (28.4%) FBG has Brown at #20 and Parrish at #22 Personally I have both Brown & Trufant in the mid 20's and Parish around 45 So I am not quite in agreement with their rankings either, but everyone has their own projections & expectations.

I think the departure of Ken Lucas deflates Trufant's value. The Hawks signed both Andre Dyson and Kelly Herndon to man the #2 and #3 holes, respectively. Dyson is good...but he's no Lucas. Because of this, teams will be less inclined to throw towards Trufant.
