The Browns are giving up 4.7 ypc and about 140 yards a game to RB's. Vegas has the total at 47 total points. Hass will be hooking up with Engram & Hackett opening up lanes for Alexander.

Don't talk to me about the last game verse the Rams.........that was then........this is now.

i could only hope but i predict 15/50 yds no TD's

14/57/0 and he blocks on play-action on 1st and goal from the 3 while Matt tosses a td to _______(fill in blank)

<sigh>

that's where it is now for SA.

With D'Quell Jackson out this weekend, it wouldn't surprise me. Jackson got hurt early in the Rams' game and Steven Jackson was having a field day out there until he got hurt. I might not "mark it down", but as a homer who follows the Browns closely I would say it's highly probably that Alexander goes off this weekend.

It's getting to the point where every week I fully expect the Browns' defense to get torn up. What will decide if we win this game is Anderson's decision making.

From your lips to God's ears! Seattle may really try to establish the run this week to keep the Cleveland offense off of the field. It's just difficult for me to get behind SA and will be for a lot of owners that have better options on the bench.

 The Browns run D is abyssmal. Fat Ted has been almost worthless at NT. The Browns will have to put up 27+ to win (again). As long as Alexander stays on the field, he'll get his tomorrow.ETA: Quick update: Fat Ted is done for the year.
Ethan Kelley, who displaced Washington as the starter five games ago, will continue to be the first nose tackle in the rotation. Crennel said that Shaun Smith, who was signed as Washington's heir, will continue to play left end because of Orpheus Roye's knee troubles. Smith does take some reps at nose tackle during games, but won't make a full conversion to the position until next year.

 I hope so, just putting up something half decent will be good enough for me. Shaun finding the endzone would be nice too. :banned: Here is to a real Alexander performance!!

For Alexander to get those yards he will have to get going early. IMHO if seattle tries to establish him early and are unsuccessful cleveland will get an early lead forcing seattle to pass. Cleveland is equally uneffective against the run and pass so their should be lots of scoring.

These replies are hilarious. I avoided him this year after we sank in WCOFF last year because of him. He may have a good game or two left in him, especially after a bye against a weak opponent, but his studly days are behind him.

He has looked terrible. We can speculate on why (arm, tread on his tires, motivation . . . etc.), but he has looked awful.

I think SA will do better than he has the last 3 games. 52 yards, maybe they'll give him a shot at a short TD if he at least shows that he can fall forward with the ball during the game. Otherwise I see him splitting carries with MoMo and Weaver and being nothing more than a reputation distrction in the endzone while some unknown blocking TE gets another gootleg TD or some other Hass pass. Sorry to burst the bubble guys, but cast or not SA has not shown one single solitary ounce of heart, other than arguing to go in during garbage time to pad his stats. I give him a 1 in 10 chance at topping 75 yards. I hope he proves me wrong because my Hawks need a running game to turn the season around but I am just not hopeful at all. SA has no heart, no guts and a big fat paycheck.

What happened to Shaun Alexander? For the first month of the season he wasn't terrible. He wasn't great either but he got you points. The last three weeks have been a much different story.

What changed since then? He's been hurt as well as his teammates so that could be it. Is it something else? I like his matchup this week but Shaun Alexander is untrustworthy right now.

If he goes off, I will have a lot of points sitting on my bench. But no way I plug him in again until he shows me something. Anything.

And now looked exactly like then...

Please stop with these "mark it down" threads. They're almost always wrong and they make you look like a tool. They do nothing but water down the shark pool with bad info./not an SA owner (but I am an AP + Portis owner  )

Add all the 'am I crazy/the only one' and 'is it just me' threads to that list too.

Jeez, I was giving him too much credit. I guess it can't get much worse for SA or his owners.

As do the "look at me, I'm a FF stud" comments. :goodposting:

I'm gonna hang with it one or two more weeks, at least until he gets the cast off. If I don't see production then, it will be a misty farewell.

Up next, San Fran and their terrible run defense. I think week 10 is when Shaun finally turns it on. :lmao: ;)
Seriously, how could it get any worse? The sky's the limit for this guy. But considering he's sitting in the 3rd sub basement boiler room right now, how could the sky not be the limit!?!?

Shaun Alexander has always been soft in my book. Now that he's a little older and slower, he has to fall at the defenders feet earlier then he used too.

I have said this for year, and I say it again: SA = Soft.

He was an amazing player in open space, but once a defender gets near him he goes down quicker then Marvin Harrison or now Randy Moss.

Dude, you totally blew the oppurtunity for a good pron reference here...

Aftfer watching the game yesterday, I think the problem with SA is the blocking/playcalling. When he is in the backfield, it is a running down. They usually run off tackle into blockers in the backfield. When Morris is in, it is usually a passing down, and there is room to run if they want. The cast doesn't help, and why isn't it off yet?

Uhhhh, cuz the wrist isn't healed yet? Just a guess.Yes there are play calling issues (ahem 4th and a foot with a "tricky" 3WR set and no FB with a guard stunt), but that isn't what makes SA go down when a defender breathes on his neck. And yes the line is underperforming, but SA cannot make something out of nothing and usually gets less than that. Morris actually at least falls forward when he gets hit.

Where's Magnum? :goodposting:
I'm here. Guess I should step away from the Jack & Coke before letting my fingers punch away on the keyboard.Alexander had nowhere to run, but.......even with that being said.........he looked slow, tired, and just worn out. NEXT WEEK IS HIS WEEK!!
