I still can't believe this kid was drafted in the 7th round....
Really depends on the level of leagues you play in. In my two leagues, both stocked to the gills with experienced owners, those guys were drafted.Yah I scooped him and Cotchery up off waivers after week 1.Its why I go minimal WR every year. Its a waste to take one before round 6. Good WRs are all over the place.
Well, this league has existed since 1998. Almost every single owner is a founding father. I guess that is "experienced". But I'm sure there are some fantastic leagues out there. But the majority of us probably don't play in such leagues.Really depends on the level of leagues you play in. He's my starting TE in BOTH my leagues. I'm trying to trade Gates and LJ Smith.I started him at TE tonight!!!I'd say he's gonne be a pretty good "TE" this year.
Um, I have Colston in both my leagues, but I don't regret taking Torry Holt and Reggie Wayne much earlier ...Yah I scooped him and Cotchery up off waivers after week 1.Its why I go minimal WR every year. Its a waste to take one before round 6. Good WRs are all over the place.
BS. It depends on roster sizes way more than owner IQ.Guys like Colston and Cocherty should not have been drafted in leagues where only 50 or so WRs get selected.Heck, nobody on the FBG staff had Colston in their preseason top 60 WRs, and only two had Cocherty (Tremblay #52, Hicks #59).Really depends on the level of leagues you play in. I had him after week 1, but dropped him for Watson. I thought Watson was going to be a stud and have more trade value - but I'm kicking myself now. At least Colston would have seen the field other than Gates' bye week!Yah I scooped him and Cotchery up off waivers after week 1.Its why I go minimal WR every year. That seems pretty high to me. Single coverage wont last forever. But he did look pretty good tonight ...i would like to know where people rank Colston in dynasty. I would think most have him around wr20. Anyone want to share?
He reminds me a lot of Keyshawn, who tends to rank in the 20's year after year. Obviously, that's a very rough comparison and it's way early in Colston's career, but that's not a bad model. That seems pretty high to me. Single coverage wont last forever. I concur. The kid's got game.
Not so in dynasty leagues, where I've been sitting on Cotcherry since his rookie year. Rashaun Woods was a complete dud for me, but at least Jerricho is picking up the slackBS. Both of my main leagues have been together for almost 15 years, yet neither guy was drafted in either.
14 team, 16 round leagues, both those goes were late draft picks.BS. I never said they should have been drafted. I said depending on the level of the leagues you're in - and I should have added this as davearm pointed out - probably just as importantly, how many rounds there are, it's possible these guys were already drafted.BS. Well, if your scoring is based on stats, he's a borderline #1 and a very strong #2 . . .So are you guys sayin gthat he can play like a good #3.. I have Plax and roy and I have Santana Moss and i'm about to bench him for Colston.. I also have Cothery
I was fortunate enough to start the season 0-2 and grab Colston in my dynasty league's first free agent draft after week 2. I really like what I saw from him tonight. Solid player with great size and most importantly, he catches the ball with his hands. I think ranking him as wr20 in dynasty might be a little high right now. I have him around 35. Let's make sure he isn't another Michael Clayton before ranking him too high.Don't get me wrong, I am pretty excited to have him in dynasty.i would like to know where people rank Colston in dynasty. Before tonight (through 2 games) he had 17 targets to Horns 13 (Bush had 19, Henderson had 10)Dont know how many they each had tonight. So am I the only one who thinks he is NOs #1 WR? What are his targets compared to Horn thus far?I've been watching all Saints game (own Bush & Colston) and it looks to me like Colston is getting majority of WR targets. At worst for him its a 1A/1B situation with Horn.Any NO homers care to chime in?
Well, not sure the official targets tonight, but I'd think Colston had more. Which, after 3 games, makes me think he is the main WR Brees is looking for.Question is, after a few more games of this, will teams focus on him opening it up for Horn more? Or will Bush lining up at WR basically take pressure off both WRs???Before tonight (through 2 games) he had 17 targets to Horns 13 (Bush had 19, Henderson had 10)Dont know how many they each had tonight. So am I the only one who thinks he is NOs #1 WR? Horn has definitely drawn the attention, but isn't the stud he used to be. Teams will get more film on this kid, and if the trend continues, play more to shut him down. Once he is treated as the Saints #1 by the opposing defenses, then we'll see what he really has. I expect his stats to cool off some and Horn to see a mild resurgence when he doesn't always draw the #1 corner like DeAngelo Hall.tombonneau said:Well, not sure the official targets tonight, but I'd think Colston had more.
