Somewhat lost behind the story of Deion Branch being traded on Monday was coach Pete Carroll saying Marshawn Lynch is adjusting quickly to the Seahawks' schemes and should be ready for a large role this week in Chicago.

That's interesting news both for Seahawks fans and for fantasy football players who haven't had a lot of luck with Seattle offensive players thus far in the season.

While Carroll hasn't officially pronounced him the starter, it seems clear he'll become the lead back in short order with Forsett likely used more as a counter back in third-down type situations.

Asked how Lynch seems to be picking things up, Carroll said: "He's doing alright. It makes sense to him. He's a very bright football player. I see Justin looking over his shoulder and helping him and Matt giving him a couple signals here and there as they're going to the line of scrimmage.

"He's very much into it. I don't think there's going to be any problem of him playing a lot in this game."

linkI can't say I love this matchup vs. Chicago, but he seems to be in line for 15-20 touches. And opportunity is half the battle. I could see him putting up RB2 numbers this weekend.

Not sure what to expect but i like his chances over Best against the Giants.

Maybe a bit better than that, but not much - he may get 30% of the carries. possibly a shade more this week.Until Lynch gets hurt that is.

If this is what the coach said then you can count on Forsett getting about 20 carries and Lynch about 5.

Marshawn is actually supposed to be a very sharp guy as it pertains to football. As far as behavior at TGI Friday's, driving automobiles and carrying firearms goes, whole other ballgame.

Reading between the lines, I took it to mean 80 carries.

The Beast and the Priest were shaking things up in Chicago. Should be a fun 1-2 punch to watch down the stretch. Though Forsett's touches will be limited with Marshawn, it looks like he could be much more effective with his 10-15 touches a game. Marshawn is going to be a huge fan favorite in Seattle. If he gets 20+ touches he'll be dangerous. Okung looks like the real deal and it seems they may finally have the right combination on the OL; hopefully they can keep the same 5 starters long enough for them to gel.

Might not be an ideal FF situation, but the Beast and the Priest are a fairly ideal RB scenario in today's NFL.
