Math calculating processing speed % (1 Viewer)

This is going to be a dumb question but wanted some thoughts based on processing speed.

So basically if you have 120 reduced to 60.  That's a 50% decrease.

So a basic example would be this...

Job 1:  Took 120 minutes to complete

Job2: Took 60 minutes to complete

Would you say this means Job2 runs 50% faster or is there some other formula for calculating this

I would call it twice as fast or 100 percent faster.  You are giving amounts of time but you are comparing rates.

It's twice as fast.  The speed, or rate, is the reciprocal of the amount of time it takes to complete.

So it would be 100% faster with a 50% decrease in processing time?

Wouldn't it be 100% faster? (The original runs at 100%. The second runs at 200% of the rate of the first, or 100% faster)
