Not that I would know through practice, but 28 grams of cocaine seems like quite an amount of cocaine. Sheesh.
thats an ounce

It was a simply a matter of time until he got released from the Jags but in time he's going to get signed by someone else if he wants the job. I know everyone is screaming he is a bust but I've not exactly seen a WR on the Jags do anything since Jimmy Smith left. I think with a change of scenery he still has a chance to be a very productive NFL football player.
It's hard to be a productive NFL player when you cringe from contact. Matt Jones is by far the biggest pu**y I've ever seen in a NFL uniform. On top of that his work ethic is completely non-existent.
You have absolutely no idea what his work ethic is you just see his body language and assume. Pu**y's don't end their careers as the SEC's leading all time rusher from the QB position.
I'm in Jax and would like to have seen him have one more year to develop, since he was a converted QB. But the NFL doesn't wait long for anyone. Matt Jones was on his way out of here anyhow. If we let Leftwich go just before last season, then Jones had no chance. I can't vouch for his work ethic either way, but I can tell you what drove people nuts about his play. The dude was bigger and faster than anyone in the secondary and he would cringe away from catching the ball to avoid a hit from a guy 50 pounds lighter than him. He also seemed to be really interested in making highlight reels by attempting (and usually failing) to make one handed catches when he could easily put both mits up there. Funniest thing ever was listening to sports radio here after a game and hearing women call up saying they had more balls than him!

Through practice as a lawyer, or coke dealer?

So, roughly 1.5-2 grand street value, not taking into account the cut, origin, and other ingredients, theoretically an ounce of quality fine grade cocaine could run as much as five grand.

Chris Mortensen:

Steve Young, who will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame this summer, has long told me that one of these days there will be a football player so unique, so gifted and so different that he will cause some consternation among the NFL types who judge and coach the most talented football players in the world.

"And it's going to be up to those people, especially some offensive coordinator, to think outside the box and figure out what to do with a guy like that," Young said.

He didn't know it at the time, but Young was talking about someone available in the 2005 NFL draft -- a guy I believe is the best player in the draft. Matt Jones is that player. Yes, the Arkansas quarterback NFL evaluators have been struggling to figure out.
how to keep off the yayo.

$800-$1000, unless you're getting ripped off.

This story makes WAY TOO MUCH SENSE. I finally have closure with this guy. I just could never understand what his problem was but it's all crystal clear now.

5K? Where?

Well it was no secret that he was on his way out of JAX. I was interested in seeing where he would end up and then seeing if he could fill the potential that he has the ability to show. I doubt that any team would have given him a starting job, but as a #3 WR and a redzone threat....it would have been interesting to see if it was as much him or the JAX passing game that was keeping him down. Though his arrest is for something far more serious than the normal slight infraction and I wonder if any team would give him a chance now, even if he didn't get jail time. If he has been using in the past, it might explain his work ethic and the lack of drive as he could have been more pre-occupied with scoring on another field.

What a sad waste of talent or better put...potential!
