Matt Ryan worth #1 waiver with otherwise mediocre QBs rostered? (1 Viewer)

Current QBs are Stafford and Mariota. I'd probably drop Mariota to claim Ryan. 

My team is pretty loaded outside of QB. Standard scoring non-PPR with 6 point QB passing touchdowns. While I'm never against getting the stud sleeper RB with my waiver priority, if I don't, it won't end me, but continued subpar QB play might (3-1 currently, surviving but not dominating)

It seems like Ryan always starts off hot and then dies out. That being said, its crazy that the #1 scorer in FF is sitting there and people question whether he should be picked up.

Yep, you summed up my dilemma exactly. I keep flip flopping back and forth. As of now I've got the claim entered, but I can't shake a bit of uneasiness.

I'd do it. Mariota has been garbage and while I have several shares of Stafford, I'm a tad uneasy after his performance this past week against Chicago. I think you could do very well streaming Ryan and Stafford based on matchup.

i would also do it.  i too was skeptical of ryan, but he admitted he struggled with the offense last year and that could explain his struggles last year.  he's never been this elite in his career but at this point 4 games is a pattern and you ride him until he cools off.

generally most seem to hold #1 WW for backup RB's that become long term starters.  you are set at RB so i think for your team it makes all the sense in the world to claim ryan this week

I did this almost exact scenario 2 weeks ago.  I had Cousins and Alex Smith, then I saw Ryan available, dropped Alex Smith for him, and proceeded to trade for Rodgers... But yes the #1 scorer has to be owned and hope he keeps the pace.

Thanks guys. I fully intended to help with both threads linked but I have never played dynasty and know very little about D Washington. I figured no advice is better than bad advice and abstained.. 

FWIW I dropped Mariota for the Eagles D (Yahoo loophole that allowed me to grab them before waivers hit) and have Ryan dropping my stream defense pending. Will likely stick with it.

I imagine I'll have some struggles this week at QB with Ryan playing Denver, but after that should be good.
