McCaffrey rushing TD (week 9) possible change to a reception? (1 Viewer)

on Christian McCaffrey's 4 yard rushing TD vs Atlanta yesterday, Cam flicked it out, like an option. Heard on a Bloom/Tremblay podcast that they expect that will be changed officially to a forward pass when the NFL does their scoring corrections.

has big implications in our league for the Cam Newton owner. I've looked at it and can't really tell. What does the shark pool think?

To close to be changed. It's a lateral.
I know that's the criteria they use during the game for replay calls but does the same apply on official stats after the fact? I really don't know the answer. Either way this doesn't affect the outcome of the game so my thinking is they'd just put it whatever is correct. I really don't know though.

thinking NO as money may have already been paid out. I'm sure it's written somewhere in the terms on the sites how these things are handled.
I looked, that's what I figured.

Hoping it changes to a pass in regular leagues. I started both.  +7 and change more points would make me feel better about tonight.

It's a pass.
The last angle they show isn’t straight down the line but it seems like Newton was at the 4 - meaning the ball was like 3-3/4 yard line - and the flick seems like it’s either straight or ever do slightly forward. CMC catches it going forward right around the 4. It’s so close I don’t think there’s enough to change it?

Team who has Cam lost by 3 pts..  Interesting if this gets changed.  Looks like a forward pass to me based on where Cam's feet are when the ball leaves his hand and where it is caught but I don't know if it is clear enough to change the scoring.

Cam owner here. Click above link (safe). Clearly shows him flipping it forward. I already called the damn Elias Sports Bureau today and a stat correction guy said they’d take a look at it. I urge others to call them too: 212-869-1530. It’s a damn passing td. I know I’m a big fantasy dork but I’ve been blowing up their twitter and emailing them all day with visual proof about this, with no response. This link shows all of the angles including the last angle which is money. Even Aikman says C Mac was way out in front of Cam. Join me my fantasy dork brethren and call Elias!!! I need the 6 points!

Jesus wept.

Guy thinks a still frame of a pitch is proof? Calling them to get a stat correction? Wow. Just wow. Urging others to call? For a week 9 match up?

Maybe Elias doesnt want to take CMC first rushing TD from him.

At no point was the pitch going forward, it literally went straight down the yard line, CMC catches it behind himself even.

A few years ago a Kurt Warner pass to Boldin was changed to a rushing TD for Boldin. Cost the Warner owner a playoff win. Week 15. It's the reverse scenario but they will change by Thursday if they change it at all.

IF they do change it, would need to happen by Wednesday for those in CBS Sportsline leagues. Not sure how other platforms do it.

"Statistics Corrections. Following the completion of each week's games, all statistics and point totals are verified, and corrections are made where necessary. However, all statistics and point totals for the week are considered FINAL as of 6:00 a.m. Eastern Time ("ET") on Fridays. If a stat correction is announced for the previous weekend's games after 6:00 a.m. ET on Fridays, it will not be included in our statistics and Your official fantasy league scoring will be based on the original statistic. For week's including NFL Thursday games, all statistics will be final as of Thursdays' morning at 6:00 AM ET."

I don't believe Elias will change it. No dog in the fight, but if you stop the vid where Cam made the flip & stop it where McCaffrey made the catch, it looks like a lateral. It's really deceiving unless you stop it. McCaffrey also catches it much earlier than it seems with the vid going full speed.

I'd be absolutely shocked if they made the change.

lol at guy above says he is going to call a lot. Will extra phone calls to annoy them actually change the direction the ball traveled?

Elias makes changes on Wednesday, the fantasy sites run updates over night and they are applied on Thursday mornings in 99.9% of platforms.

Yes, exactly. I mean we all love fantasy, I'm sure...but the level of sadness it would take to call for a week 9 stat correction is a level I never hope I reach. Not to mention, the calls dont change what they will do. As if your argument has not been heard among the people they know personally anyways. You think Elias people dont have friends who play fantasy football?

If I worked at Elias and a bunch of dudes called me about a stat change to help their fantasy teams, I'd purposely leave it the way it is.
something tells me this is not the first time. I bet people call there every single week about something. They understand how widespread the fantasy interest is.

I have Cam and I won my matchup but I would win $10 for being the highest scoring team of the week if I get an extra 6 pts.

And yet I still think it's a lateral.
