Watched basically that whole game on Red Zone yesterday and i was completely baffled as to how Knapp has deisgned his role in this offense. Handoff up the middle, handoff up the middle, handoff up the middle. That is it, nothing else. Well i did see 2 actual screens by design. 1 dmac dropped and the other went nowhere. They run absolutley nothing outside for him. Not to mention, Palmer still thinks he's in cincy circa 2005. He's continually checking out of run plays, changing things at the line etc..... Oakland is a disaster.

Exactly so you have to draw up plays that will allow McFadden to use his ability rather than rely on his oline opening up holes. Run the ball to the OUTSIDE!!!
We've been discussin this in the other McFadden thread. Oakland is a disaster. Knapp is terrible. Allen is terrible. Palmer is terrible.
McFadden is a victim of terrible coaching, play calling, and qb play. And I don't think it will get much better until Allen gets fired and the new coach brings in an OC that actually understands how to tailor his offense to its star players.
It's like making your qb chad Pennington and installing a 100% vertical passing game totally dependent on a strong arm.

I don't get the scheme, either. It's really bad, on the face at least. I'll defer to some experts, but I haven't heart anyone really killing them on air. What is local coverage saying about them?
