McNabb-who has sold high? (1 Viewer)

Who has sold high on McNabb? This guy has been absolutely on fire. What did you you get for him. I am 4-1 and I was just offered LT and Brady for McNabb. It is a keeper league which would allow me to team LJ and LT together. I can't believe I am actually thinking about turning this deal down. Who thinks he is going to keep this pace up?

I would do the trade.Disclaimer: I am an McNabb owner in a dynasty league.

I would take that deal if I were you.I sold McNabb last week. Wish I hadn't, it cost me a win.McNabb, TO, BushforPeyton, Moss, TatumI'm not sure I sold high, but I did it or a couple of reasons. One, I think, or thought that Peyton would put up better numbers (I am now questioning that, and actually afraid of Manning sitting in week 15,16...so I am actually trying to flip Manning now). I thought Randy Moss was a good buy low candidate, and TO scares me. But, I really wanted Tatum Bell. He already had his bye, and Bush was gonna cause me problems in week 7 with his bye.So, if I could do it over, would I? Probably not. Only beacuse I probably could have done it again this week (trade McNabb) and got even more value out of him. Oh well

So I take it you guys think he is going to slow down? He last 4 games are home vs. the Panthers and then @Wash, @NY, @Dal. The rest of it isn't that bad. Right now McNabb is on pace for 4800 yards passing and 48 total td's.

I think he will still put up some awesome numbers, but if your getting offered Brady, who will be decent, and LT who is well LT. That's solid, you won't get a better offer.

I have a bad feeling about Philly this year, regarding injuries. It's not a good sign that all of his main surrounding cast seems to be banged up all the time. I can't help but think that will will catch up to McNabb. Therefore, based on gut feeling, I would sell high.

Even if he does not slow down, depending on how your league scores everything, the value of LT and Brady is likely to be more than a 4800/48 McNabb.

That said, I doubt that he is able to reach these numbers, but even if you think he will, I would still take the deal.

The only way you do not get the better of this deal is if LT gets hurt.

But imagine if Westbrook, Stallworth, LJ, etc. all get pretty healed up during their bye Week 9. What kind of stretch could McNabb be in for?

I also love the fact that inside the 5 they have like zero running game. They get down there, you just know they're passing.

Understand the sell-high sentiment but couldn't it also be that McNabb's in the midst of one of those magical fanatsy years? Not likely Manning '04 but maybe something like 4200 passing yards and 35 TD?

Of course, and he could keep up the pace. But if someone throws out Brady, and LT for McNabb I'm going to take it. Not even think twice

Not to mention the fact that this is a keeper league. Even if McNabb does go off, I'd still feel very good about my long term chances with LT.

You should make that trade.

Right now McNabb has outscored both Brady and LT combined. Do you think LT is going to come around? He was great the first 2 weeks but has been splitting carries with Turner lately.

LT's numbers were down the past couple of weeks because he was faced the Steelers, and Ravens, not due to splitting any carries with Turner. San Diego is not going to turn into some huge RBBC mess. LT is entirely too talented. It sounds like you have a worried LT owner in your league, pounce on the move to aquire the best RB in FF before he blows up this week in San Fran.

:goodposting: you shouldn't of have even had to make this should i do this trade thread. press accept already.

I would definatly do that trade. I just unloaded McNabb for Carson Palmer and Steven Jackson. IT's nice to ride players when they're as dominant as McNabb has been, but there's no way he keeps it up.

If the draft were today, McNabb is not a first round pick. Why in the world would you not trade him for LT straight up, more or less Brady thrown in, I don't understand. Do it!

I sold him after week 4 for Harrison and Carr in a PPR league where I was in desparate need of a WR. Way I see it, in that scoring format Marvin is a 2nd round pick, and even if DMac finished the year the #1 QB he would be no better than the same.

I wish I had waited a little longer...I could have gotten more today than this time a week ago. But, I drafted him in round 6 and turned him into a top 5 WR I really needed.

No offense, but you must be high. The closest QB to him in my league is Manning and he's more than 40 points behind. The closest RB is more than 60 points behind him.

As long as we're talking about McNabb in a trade, what does anyone think of McNabb and Chad Johnson for E. Manning, Burress and LenDale White?

Note: Cut and paste from post made Oct 3 on another related thread

I wasn't looking to trade McNabb but was made an offer tonight I couldn't refuse:

McNabb

Droughns

Buckhalter (owner has Westbrook)

A. Bryant (owner has A. Smith)

for

Bledsoe/Romo (already had his bye week)

T. Barber (already had his bye week)

Harrison

Scoring: 6 pts all TD's, 1 pt/10 yds rushing/receiving, 1 ppr, 1 pt/25 yds passing

Lineups: 2 QB's, 2 RB's, 3 WR's, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DST, 2 Flex (RB, WR or TE)

Why I made the trade:

1) I LOVE McNabb, but feel he is due to come back to earth a tad, especially since Westbrook, Stallworth and Brown are all banged up.

2) Bledsoe may not pass for as many yards but since Dallas has a respectable running game and very good receiving corp, I feel confident Bledsoe will be a better than average producer. My other two QB's are Pennington and C-Pep, so I will play best 2 of 3 based on matchups.

3) I pick up TWO bye weeks and this also helps cover me for a bye week issue later on as McNabb and Pennington were both in off week 9.

4) I upgrade my RB's (Tiki is now my RB2 behind LJ and ahead of Foster, Bush, Norwood, Jones-Drew, Turner.

5) I upgrade my WR's (Harrison is now my WR1 ahead of Roy Williams, Cotchery, Evans and R. Smith)

6) The owner I traded with is NOT in my division and we have already played each other so McNabb can only hurt me H2H in the playoffs.

7) Overall, I feel I improved my team's scoring consistency which in the long-run will improve my chances at the playoffs as we use the CBS Power Rankings (combo of H2H, total pts and overall wins) to determine our two wildcard teams.

I feel good about my trade and am not looking for comments good or bad about it...I hope my trade analysis provides some food for thought to other owners looking to trade / trade for McNabb. Good luck to all!

I'm really kicking myself for trading McNabb. After watching him blow up the first 3 weeks, I didn't think he could do it the entire season, but, now I'm starting to think different. He's a difference maker and can almost single handedly win a week for you.

The league I'm in has 15 owners. It's a redraft. We start 1QB, 3RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1D, 1K. As you might guess, it's tough to have 3 solid RB's in your stable with 15 owners.

QB's get 4 pts for a TD pass. 1 pt per 40 yards passing. 1 pt per 15 yards rushing receiving. 6 points for a rushing/receiving TD. The rest is pretty standard.

I made this trade the Wednesday after Alexander hurt his foot:

McNabb/Alexander/Morris

for

Tiki/Driver/Rivers

I have Brett Favre on the bench who was looking great after week three. Just my luck he AND Driver both got dinged up week 4. I really think the Giants can get their running game back together, so, I'm happy with Tiki...even though he hasn't done Jack. I really needed the upgrade at receiver and I didn't want to F' with the Alexander/Morris situation all year. Alexander wasn't doing so hot the first 2 weeks anyway.

I think I'm still bleeding from this trade. :Ed Norton after he was accosted in the shower in American History X:
