Seems to be causing quit a disturbance in the UK.

While I dont know the complete story I am flabbergasted that no media outlet is even hinting that Harry is not Charles son.  I thought this was common knowlege?

Harry’s mother was killed by paparazzi who photographed her while she was dying in the car they caused to be in the fatal accident.  Instead of helping her.

With the way the press treats his wife, I am not at all surprised that he wants out. If only to protect her and his child. Any other reason seems ancillary to all of that.

Your denial of this political reeks of the political desire to keep the royals apolitical.

You're stuck. It's political.
Nope.

I forgive you your wrongness this time, though. You haven't dealt with royals for a while.

ETA: The rtopic is also over and done with. The Queen caved (as she had to)

The Crown just keeps getting storylines.    Great show on Netflix if you haven't checked it out yet.
This is what I thought of when this story first broke.

The guy knows he can make boatloads of money without having to deal with the ceremonial stuff.

Pretty much writing off his family.

I would be pissed if I was paying for any part of their security, travel, living, etc. as an English taxpayer.  If they want to be independent they should be stripped of their titles and sent on their way.  I really wouldn’t have an issue with them doing that.  Just no milking the Crown and the taxpayer.

I believe the news has indicated that approximately 5% of their budget is taxpayer-provided, and the result of this will be that 0% is taxpayer-provided.

That doesn’t include security, which is a pretty big expense.  Not sure how they will work that out.

I don't honestly have any idea what the royal family does and why it matters that Harry is leaving.  I don't care enough to bother finding out, but I do care just enough to register my disinterest in this thread.

Until Harry declares himself King of Canada, this thread is in the wrong forum (and also utterly uninteresting)

“Harry was born on September 15, 1984, which means he was conceived around Christmas 1983, when his brother, William, was 18 months old."

“Diana did not meet James Hewitt until the summer of 1986."

The British press is the absolute worst when it comes to tabloid news, and you only need to look at the circumstances of Diana's death to understand that.  Just repeating their nonsense here and discussing it gives it a false sense of validity.  I'd rather not.

Fifth in line for the British crown has basically decided to leave the line of succession, move to the U.S., and start doing speeches for money.  It feels a touch political.
I thought they hated America or at least Trump?

ETA - guess they are going to Canada until Trump is out if office.
