Megyn Kelly (1 Viewer)

Leaving a prime time weeknight show for daytime television and Sunday evening is not considered a step up for news anchors.
Perhaps not, but given that she is a mother with 3 small kids, you can't blame her for this. She even alluded in recent interview to not liking the fact that she never saw her kids evenings during the week.  I would bet money that that was a large factor in her decision.

I would also bet that Fox News viewers turning on her for questioning Trump was a big factor as well, especially considering the attention it gave her around the country.  Time to take advantage of the increased attention, move away from a lot of folks who really hate her now, and get a more family friendly gig.  Win-Win-Win.

O'Reilly is an independent.
He is registered as an independent, but anyone who watches his show for more than 20 minutes knows he's a major conservative.  Not just in his views, but in his treatment of his guests (he cuts Democrats off and argues with them way more than he does with Republicans).

Yep.  The sexist culture at Fox News that came out last year had to be a factor, as did the Trump hardcore fans who decided to hate her because she dared ask him a tough question. Throw in the kid factor and her leaving was more than a given.

I like her and enjoyed her show. I'll be curious how she "changes" now that she's on NBC.
It will be - you could tell that she was always putting on an act to placate the typical Fox viewer demographic. I think she will do well when she gets to act as herself. For those who think it would be a step down - at NBC they have the Olympic package and she'll be fantastic in that Olympic News role I bet they promised her quite a bit around that job.

I do think she's genuinely conservative, but I also think the attack by Trump and his gutterpunk vanguard took her by surprise.

good. NBC hasn't had a superfluous entity who took herself this seriously since Ann Curry
I think everyone from Katie Couric to Kathy Lee to Lester Holt and even Rachel Maddow should be watching their rearview mirror.

Good for her. I always enjoyed her and thought she made a powerful role model for women. Don't agree with her all the time and don't watch her daily not even weekly really but she has earned the right to go where she wants. Huge pull for NBC, nightly news anchor? They gotta be paying her a fortune, please don't have her hosting the Today Show and making muffins with Matt, that would suck.

She is the new face of NBC. Either she traded sides and wants to show she is more socially Lib than many might think or NBC has finally realized that a good chunk of the country isn't Democrats.

IIRC Jake Tapper and Major Garrett left Fox and they've been fine. Tapper might be the best anchor in news (IMO).

I've always been under the impression that she is genuinely conservative.  I find it funny that the conservative media is making her out to be some ultra-liberal

Good point both you and Saints.

People think I worship Fox News and that's totally not true. I watch Morning Joe because there are so many real reporters they bring n and I like all the newspapers they run thru. I watch the first few minutes, Talking Points on OReilly...you want to know what thhe GOP is thinking then you're stupid not to get his summary because it saves you 3-4'hours of Hannity, Kelly, Carson and the rest of OReilly's show. Just a couple minutes and you know what that side is thinking. Wish I could say the same for the Left but you gotta pull it out of them what they actually want and are protesting about.

Anyone else also think she will crush Roger and Fox in some lawsuit after she escapes? That incident should not be overlooked and I think because she was so front and center that the story really pushed her out the door. Fox gave her a prime slot and bumped Hannity to 10:00 about a year or two ago I want to say? Hannity was Mr 9:00 and then he got pushed back for her.

Fox is gonna take a hit from any female viewership. Nobody left.

Still laugh thinking of when she commented during one of the debates when Hannity was trying to track down Trump...something like "let's wait for a real journalist"....

Big fan of Megyn. She is pretty much the only show I watch on Fox. She fit in well on Fox. It will be interesting to see how she acts on NBC.

Leaving Fox and/or MSNBC to go somewhere other than Fox/MSNBC is most definitely a step up...especially in the "quality of life" department.  One could go from "primetime" on Fox to reporting bear sitings in Alaska and it would be a step up.  No idea how those goobers at either company get out of bed in the morning to do what they do.

She'll be on MSNBC during election coverage, right?

Good question...don't know.  If so, maybe MSNBC actually cares about trying to be credible?  I just assumed she'd be on NBC for the election coverage and debates like what's his nuts this past year.

Tucker Carlson gets the 9pm slot . He's done fantastic with the 7 slot and is a very good interviewer .
We shall see.  As I said before, Megyn has been the only show I have been able to watch on Fox News and I am a conservative.  O Riley is ok for the first 15 minutes or while Dennis Miller is on.  Hannity is a tool. I only watch TV for a short bit each night and have no idea what was on at 7 PM or earlier.  Megyn left big shoes to fill IMO.

I rarely watch it, but I think Chris Wallace's Sunday morning show is the best they have to offer.
