In a statement, Bacardi said, “Memento is a masterpiece that leaves audiences guessing not just throughout the film, but long after as well, which is a testament to its daring approach. We intend to stay true to Christopher Nolan’s vision and deliver a memorable movie that is every bit as edgy, iconic and award-worthy as the original. It’s a big responsibility to deliver something that lives up to the mastery of the original, but we are extremely excited and motivated to bring this puzzle back to life and back into the minds of moviegoers.”

Seems like a really bad idea.

Terrible idea.
I am less than excited.

I remember when movies actually were good and drew me in. This was one of the last of an era. I still remember it well. Watched it twice and also watched the one where they cut it forwards.

Maybe I'm just isolated and focus on serial dramas, but I haven't seen but maybe 4-5 movies in about as many years.

What if the new one is actually the first one, but we won't realize it until we see it. Only then will we realize that he movie is out of order.

It does seem like one of the last movies that I remember telling everyone about and dragging people to see it.

As long as it has tons of explosions and Channing Tatum as Leonard with Tom Hardy as Teddy and Amy Adams as Natalie we'll be all good.

They talked about doing an american Amelie and never got that off the ground. I suspect the same thing here.

I'm currently working on a Star Wars Episode VII reboot.

I can't believe they're rehashing stuff like this when they could be creating a wonderful biopic on Rickey Henderson.

Momento was a one of a kind movie that'd I'd love to share with my fam but I'd never get my kids to watch it because it's OLD. I'd be all for remaking Dead Again and Mortal Thoughts while we're at it.

I don't see why they have to make the whole movie again, which seems like it will take a lot of time and effort, when they can just put the original movie back in theaters. They're not going to make the new one better than the one that already exists.

It's a classic movie.

That said, a lot of people have never seen it. Did 25mill total box-office. Had a great run after the box-office but it's not a movie everyone has seen nor has been beaten to death on cable. They'd be smart to cast Jennifer Lawrence as the lead. It would be huge. Would take the distaste out of the mouth of all those who love the original. Switching genders would freshen it up.

After remaking Willy Wonka nearly anything untouchable. The Godfather would be untouchable.

Isn't there some crappy show on network TV with a female lead with her life story tattooed on her now anyways?

Why not, they have been running out of original ideas in Hollywood for years.
So not true, and we like to pretend we didn't grow up in the age of sequels of everything from Beverly Hills Cop to Revenge of the Nerds to Under Seige.

Reboots are just the new, dumb, continuation of what has always been.

Godfather remake has been confirmed. Gordon Levitt as Michael. Fassbender as Sonnie. Liam Niessen as Vito. Gyllenhaal as Fredo. Tom Hardy as Tom. Kate Winslet as Kate.

So now 2000 is OLD?

And what sort of people don't like old movies? You need to do a better job raising your kids.

Yeah there is plenty of good original stuff between the piles of sequels and remakes. Same as it's always been.
