* December 15, 2005 - Chris Henry was pulled over in Northern Kentucky for speeding and marijuana was found in his shoes. He was also driving without a valid driver's license, and without auto insurance. On January 30, 2006, he was arrested in Orlando for multiple gun charges including concealment and aggravated assault with a firearm[11]. He was reported to have been wearing his Number 15 Bengals jersey at the time of his arrest. Henry pleaded guilty in both cases and avoided jail time in both cases.

* May 4, 2006 - Cincinnati media reported that Henry is being investigated by Covington police in connection with a sex crime, which allegedly occurred in a hotel room in Covington, Kentucky early on April 30, 2006. No charges have yet been filed, and on May 24, 2006, Covington police reported that there is no proof anything happened and that the alleged victim might now face charges for filing a false police report.

* June 3, 2006 - Chris Henry was pulled over outside on Interstate 275 at 1:18 a.m by Ohio Highway Trooper Michael Shimko. At 2:06 a.m. Henry voluntarily submitted to a breathalyzer test at Milford Police Department and registered a .092 blood-alcohol level, .012 above the level permitted by Ohio law. [12] These charges have since been dismissed as it was proven that the breathalyzer used to test Henry at the scene was faulty. [13]

* September 25, 2006 in the early morning, Bengals linebacker Odell Thurman was pulled over for a DUI. The truck Thurman was driving belonged to rookie Reggie McNeal. Neither McNeal nor Chris Henry were charged with any wrongdoing by authorities, however, Bengals Head Coach Marvin Lewis benched Henry for the Bengals loss against the New England Patriots.

* October 6, 2006 - Henry was suspended by the NFL for two games for violating the league's personal conduct and substance abuse policies. NFL policies forbid Henry from taking part in practices, however, he was allowed to attend any team meetings. Henry missed the Bengals' October 15, 2006 game at Tampa Bay Buccaneers and their October 22, 2006 game against the Carolina Panthers. [14]

* January 25, 2007 - Henry pleaded guilty to charges of providing alcohol to minors, an incident that occurred at a hotel in the spring on 2006. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail, with all but two of those days being suspended. [15]

* April 10, 2007 - Henry was suspended for the first eight games of the 2007 NFL season for violations of the NFL's personal conduct policy[16]. His suspension comes with a stern warning that future misconduct may result in the end of his career with the NFL. Henry has since been allowed to begin practicing fully with the Cincinnati Bengals by NFL Commissioner, Roger Goodell. [17] His suspension was lifted and he played in the November 11, game versus the Baltimore Ravens, amassing 4 catches for 99 yards.

* May 18, 2007 - Henry allegedly failed a court-mandated drug test, where a field tested resulted in a false positive for taking an opiate, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. The failed drug test would have been the third violation of the NFL's substance abuse policy. A third violation, per league rules, results in a one-year suspension. In addition to having his suspension increased to 24 games, he would have had to serve an 88 day jail sentence.[18] As of May 23, 2007, the State of Kentucky has reported that Henry in fact did NOT fail a drug test, and that earlier reports to the contrary are erroneous.

* June 12, 2007 - Henry allegedly assaulted a 16 year old boy with teammate Reggie McNeal. The claims were later reported to be unfounded [19] and Henry and McNeal have been exonerated.

* November 6, 2007 - Henry allegedly assaulted a valet attendant at Newport on the Levee[20].

* April 2, 2008 - Henry was charged with misdemeanor assault and property damage. Henry allegedly threw a bottle shattering the victim's car window and punched him in the face, however Henry said it was a case of mistaken identity.[21] Henry was waived by the Bengals a day after this arrest.

Nice time line RM, I always thought on pure talent level and skill Henry was the best WR in Cincy, what a shame.

Henry was even suspended for his final college football game

before honing his skills as a career criminal.

Somebody should have made him learn the old Chinese proverb:

When walking in a watermelon patch, don't lean down to adjust your sandals.

The idiot has put himself in harm's way.

Former Bengal Chris Henry spent an extra night in jail because no one was available to fit him with a court-ordered monitoring device to report his location while under house arrest. Perfect!

Seriously? So you think Henry was one of the top 5 WR's in the NFL? Or don't you think Chad is any good. I think Henry had skills but saying he's better than CJ is crazy.

I think Henry had more potential than most WR's in the NFL today, I reiterate that IMHO Henry was more skilled than Johnson and Houz. That Henry could never get his act together is too bad. And for the Record I think Houz is a better overall WR than Chad Johnson. The greatest thing about Chad is his ego.So yeah Seriously, Performance and talent don't always correlate. No where in my Post did I say anything about Henry being a Top 5 WR and that was not the point.

...but one would also have to assume there were plenty of fires started by Henry where he was not caught/accused (rightfully or wrongfully).

Well I think CJ is top 5, I'm curious, where do you rank CJ in terms of talent in the NFL? Am I reading this right, you think CJ was the 3rd most talented WR on his team? What would make you think Housh is better than Chad Johnson?

I clearly think CJ is a top 20 WR in the NFL. Houz is clutch but no where near as athletec as CJ. I always thought that CJ, Houz, and Henry were the best three WR group in the NFL. CJ is more worried about the show, Houz just goes out and does his Job and Henry was a rare talent. CJ could be the pinnicle WR in the NFL if he quit with the antics and just went out and played ball. Houz is the man in Cincy period. The team could afford to lose CJ, but the loss of Houz would relegate Johnson to Chris Chambers status a man double teamed and unable to get open, its Houz that other teams have to plan for.

....the loss of Houz would relegate Johnson to Chris Chambers status a man double teamed and unable to get open....
Actual events on the football field have proven the above scenario to be without merit. In 2003 Chad Johnson had 90 receptions for 1,355 yards & 10 TD's. In 2003 T.J. Houshmandzadeh had 0 receptions for 0 yards & 0 TD's.

Except that, as someone pointed out CJ was a stud before Housh came along. And before Palmer came along. And he does more with fewer targets too.

If you watched any of the 2003 Bengals games, Warrick indeed received extra defensive attention at the beginning of the season. However starting about game 4 & on, opposing Defensive Coordinators began switching their defensive game plan / focus from Warrick, to Johnson. Basically in 2003 Johnson was drawing the majority of the coverage for 3/4th's of that season, so I'm unsure why you think Johnson's ability to handle extra defensive attention back in 2003 is a weak point...unless of course you feel 2003 was Johnson's peak & his WR skills have been declining since then. But whatever your rational, if it is your opinion that Johnson cannot perform as a WR #1 without someone across from him to draw substantial defensive attention, then you are certainly entitled to it.Just understand that others may not share your view, especially given the historical evidence to the contrary.

Johnson is a true Number 1 WR, not the number 1 WR but a good number 1. I just don't personally like the guy, so I pop off a little more against him than he deserves. I think you could put a sack of wheat across from Johnson and he would still perform well. I wish Johnson skills were declining then Cincy could be rid of what I think is a big disturbance in the locker room. There is just no evidence to support that he's lost a step.

:goodposting: Don't feel like the Lone Ranger mdog. There's plenty of players I'm not exactly enamored with myself & I can get pretty disparaging about them too. Of course deep down, I know I'm just letting my dislike of said player get the better of me.We've all been there, done that & got the T-shirt, so don't sweat it.
