Man, that sucked. Reading all the applications wasn't too bad. Trying to pick just 11 people was not fun. I gave each application a score, and then sorted the list. There were nearly 90 applications. I scored 27 applications highly enough that I'd be happy to have them on the team and felt that they stood out among the applicants. However, I could only take 11. I feel good that these 11 teams will represent the message board well, and provide a well rounded team.The team members must:1. Be availabe for the draft on Saturday, June 5th. (afternoon, sometime)2. Writeup player reports for each of their picks3. Keep silent on unreleased material. The rounds and commentary will be released on the site over the course of several days. It's important to keep quiet on unreleased material. 4. Reply to this thread accepting their spot on the team5. Email me and include their board name, so that we can plan as a team for this competition. Thanks for reading through all the applicants Unlucky. Go ahead and get em guys, I don't know what kind of cheerleader I'll make but I'll certainly try.

Kudos to Unlucky for performing a tough task. All of the members chosen are well known and bring mad skillz to the table.Should be fun to follow throughout the season. :thumbup:

not trying to slam you. just don't understand why everyone is "shocked" you didn't make it.either these guys are all your friends, aliases of yours, or you paid them money.regardless, be glad you weren't chosen. the beatdown will not be pretty.with all the FFA guys that ended up being chosen, at least their writeups might be as humorous as the teams they end up drafting.
 
Walks towards podium. In 'Tara from Bachelor' fashion, Grouse stops to puke by the stage stairs and subsequently slips and falls in his own stomach bile. Picks himself up and stands sheepishly behind podium staring into wrong camera. Sees the Director, Unlucky, waving his hands wildly like he is directing a runaway Boeing 747 while yelling mouthed silent instructions from back of room. He's looking visibly upset. Having no idea what he is saying, Grouse reluctantly begins to mumble into the microphone as it shreeks out an angry high-pitched buzz that causes the entire crowd to cover their ears and retreat their heads between their legs as though they were enacting a plane crash drill...

I don't know what to say. I'm so so shocked. I didn't prepare a speech. I'd like to thank my parents. Without their support I wouldn't be here today...

Wipes eyes as uncontrollable sobbing begins to take hold.

I just...I gladly accept this honor and...

Runs off-stage and finishes vomitting the Chicken A La King, Jasmine Rice, Viagra, Qualudes and 2 bottles of Merlot devoured prior to proceedings. Director Unlucky bows head in shame and clearly shows remorse and disgust for agreeing to let this putz anywhere near the spotlight.

He won the 2003 Survivor Pool and the 2003 Super Bowl Pool. He talks better smack than anyone out there and knows a hell of alot about FF. Unlucky did a great job picking his team, I just thought TGunz would be part of it. Good luck to those chosen.Did I answer your question?
 
And not one No Mercy Great White represtitive in the group. :rant: I do see a couple of low ranked No Mercy guys in the list. That should be an even match-up since all of the staff guys (except Tremblay) that are in No Mercy are low ranks too. The best of the best of No Mercy definitely got robbed.

Aaron, that was actually pretty good, I like the 3rd line.Guys, it's all for fun. There were over 100 applicants, I'm sure it was close all the way around. Now you can smooze the guys who are on the Message Board Team for a year, because our winner is captain next year and selects, and it may be Unlucky again!You the man Unlucky! :thumbup: But seriously, let's not throw stones at him. I was 3rd alternate, so close but yet so far. Tonight when I got to sleep I'll be thinking, if I were to have written 10 more posts, crossed and dotted all my i's and t's in every post I ever wrote. LOLIt was fun, liked the anticipation. Don't like to get cut, oh well, I'll live with it.
 
Only one participant from the MBSL's selected? :no: Thats the best preperation you can get for this challenge. Good luck to all though. Kick some ###. :boxing:

If I might be the first to say that the sour grapes crew should take this somewhere else. There are plenty of permutations of how this team could have been made that would have been fair, yet there would be someone left off that a)won some survivor league before, b) is in some ultra mega league, or c) is some great guy around here. It is a very simple thing. There were 11 slot and more than 11 people applied. Get over it and move on. I wish shick! was monitoring here to delete all the crybaby posts. Get over yourselves.That is all.GatorPS. Am I upset I didn't make it, sure, but I see those who got in and see that there are no slouches there either.

I must confess I don't even know what those leagues are so I guess I'm out of the loop.However, many strong candidates from the Survivor II invitational last year (including the winner purplehaze67) were also excluded.TGunz would have been qualified and probably done a great job, but so would about 20 other people that got left out.

seriously though, at least now you'll all get to post about how much better the MB team would have done if only Unlucky had chosen you. Once the dream team mops the floor with this crew, you'll all be happy you didn't go down with the ship.
