MFL Placed on IR, then waived with Injury Settlement (1 Viewer)

How do y'all handle IR when a player like Colt Lyerla is placed on IR then later waived with an injury settlement?

Do you allow the team to keep him on IR?

Nope. In my leagues a player must have (I) next to their name to go on IR. They get waived with an injury settlement, owner has to promote them to the active roster or cut them ASAP.

Ours is similar, although I've found in the past waiting for the (I) to show up could take some time. If I see multiple sources confirm the player is done for the year, I will move the player to IR with an (O) designation.

Anyway once he's waived, I move him back to the active roster and the owner can choose to keep him there with the FA* designation that MFL applies, or he can waive him. No IR stashing.

You do realize that a player waived with an injury settlement must remain out for X amount of weeks as agreed upon by the team. It's much like the IR designated for return tag.

Why would you treat a player who is injured as an active player?

The Packers reached an injury settlement with the rookie tight end on Tuesday, his agent Vinnie Porter has confirmed. It will cover the first eight weeks of the regular season.

NFL rules require teams to wait at least six weeks after the player is cleared from injury to re-sign him to the practice squad. That would be Week 14 in Lyerla's case.
