MIA LB Situation (1 Viewer)

Joey Porter would be the other outside linebacker. Virginia's Chris Long could play a hybrid role like Taylor's if Miami drafts him No. 1 -- which ESPN's Mel Kiper now projects. So can Quentin Moses, who intrigues the Dolphins. Former Houston special-teams standout Charlie Anderson has "a lot of range and speed and can definitely contribute" at outside linebacker, Texans radio analyst Andre Ware said.

Meanwhile, Reggie Torbor and Channing Crowder would fit the two inside linebacker spots when Miami is in a 3-4. ''Torbor showed he can be a starter -- he's very good at the point of attack,'' Giants radio analyst Dave Jennings said. ''But he played in a 4-3, and it's difficult to say if he can play inside in a 3-4.'' . . . Miami said it hasn't signed former Denver starter Ian Gold, listed as a Dolphin by wikipedia.com.
What does this mean for the value of the LBs?Who'll play RILB?

Torbor a stopgap?

Chris Long an OLB? ...I'd surmise that Jason Talyor would be somewhere else next year if MIA drafts Long.

I really doubt that Reggie Torbor turns into much, he is very limited with instincts. But you never know.

Any opinions on Pope?

He scored alright filling in for Crowder and Thomas but would he be viewed as a possible starter

Channing Crowder, if he ends up as an every down RILB, would be worth owning and potentially starting. But there's no one else of value in tackle neutral/heavy scoring systems. Torbor, Pope and Anderson have no upside at all. Taylor's value is dependent on how he's classified. Moses and any potential rookie OLB/DE tweener may have some upside in big play leagues, but are far from sure things, including solid talents like Long and Gholston and Graves.
