I think he'll wind up taking more walks this year (his rate is already up near 20%), which should help. I don't think his OBP will do much to clear .325 or so by season's end. But, once he's on 1B, he's gone like lightning. If he can get anywhere around 700+ plate appearances, which is his current pace, he should clear 100 SBs. Dead serious. I think this is one of those totally insane, but attainable, feats for Bourn this year.ETA: I think his upside for BA is around .250.

Perhaps. But, he's still 1000x faster than Ellsbury. Don't forget this fact.

Both Ellsbury and Bourn are available in my league. It's only an 8-teamer, so teams are pretty stacked. I don't know who I would drop:
Batters
R Martin, Prince, Utley, C Guillen, Chipper, Beltran, Sizemore, A Dunn, H Matsui, Granderson (occupies DL spot)
Pitchers
Harang, Carmona, Gagne, Joba, Sherrill, Isringhausen, Sheets, Myers, Acosta, Betancourt and F Liriano. Edit to add: I am trying to claim Matt Cain off waivers for Ian Snell.
I guess maybe Gagne, Acosta, Betancourt or Liriano.
Ok, who would you pickup: Ellsbury or Bourn? Who would drop: Gagne, Acosta, Betancourt or Liriano?

The second of the three times Bourn was thrown out, replays showed Young used a phantom tag, and didn't even touch him, he has hit well the last three games, is back in the leadoff spot, had an rbi and a SB last night, earth shattering no but he'll hit better than .200

he actually got beat by soto's throw (by a decent margin) in this one. ball skipped and theriot couldnt get the tag down.

A player like Michael Bourn hurts your fantasy team more than he helps. He is strictly a one category guy who sinks you in 4 other categories. Players like these are not good investments. You can have the steals.

not if you go into the draft anticipating this. you can almost completely ignore steals, and draft hr/rbi guys early...
Well, I NEED the steals......Has anyone heard anything new about Bourn? I saw that he was losing some playing time to Erstad. I want to trade for him because my team is last in steals but will he play?
