Michael Bush (1 Viewer)

i could see them putting bush on the IR and not cutting Jordan just to keep Jordan off the Cheifs roster
well, i thought of that too, but there is no guarantee that he would wind up there, there are teams with worse records that could sccop him up firstETA Just found this:

Oakland Raiders veteran RB Lamont Jordan asked the team to release him this week, and he just might get his wish. Jordan told team officials Monday he wanted out after being benched the past two games, a source familiar with the situation said on the condition of anonymity. If the Raiders decide to release Jordan, they won't have to look far for a replacement. They must activate rookie running back Michael Bush by 1 p.m. today or place him on the season-ending injured reserve list.

Anyone know if the timing is until 1:00 PM local time? Or does the NFL go by an official time zone, say EST, that all teams must set their clock by?

I believe this to be 1:00 Eastern, which is where the NFL headquarters are. I think that they will need to have received the paperwork to make it official.

I keep refreshing the "transactions" page on the Raiders' website, but there is nothing showing. Is it more likely to show up there first or on NFL.com?

Well, it's 2:30 Eastern, and I haven't heard a thing, any updates?

Pure speculation of course, but maybe they are trying to track down Jordan to tell him he's been cut, prior to making an official announcement.

wouldn't they have practice? i don't know. I sure hope so, since I have Jordan $1, and Bush $6 in a $220 salary cap dynasty.

Where would you guys rank M.Bush in a keeper league for 2008? It's difficult to put a value on him since he hasn't played yet. I'm guessing that he will play before the season is done based on how they are treating the Jordan situation. I hope they shed some more light on this today.

Michael Bush-RB-Raiders Nov. 21 - 3:10 pm et

Michael Bush (leg) did not practice with the Raiders on Wednesday.

Apparently the Raiders would rather keep LaMont Jordan on the active roster than release him to make room for Bush and allow Kansas City to the chance to snap Jordan up. It's not official yet, but Bush has not been activated from the Non-Football Injury list and could be headed for injured reserve.

Well, that's that.

Seems ridiculous. The Raiders need to worry about their own business, insetad of worrying what the Chiefs will do. Now they will have to wait and they won't know if they have to waste a pick on a RB next year. Stupid organization. They could have released Walters if they needed to. Or Rhodes, who has only 3 carries the last 3 weeks.

I find it hard to believe that a 2-8 team would make this move just to prevent a division rival from getting Jordan, but then again it is the Raiders.

exactly, this team is run poorly. How can a team that bad on the field be worried about letting another team get one of their castoffs. It would have been nice to see if Michael Bush had anything. The guy has been out of football for a year and a half, and now the Raiders are going to prolong it another 9 months. They need to get him out there to see what he can do, I am sure he is healed.

What the flip! Well that sucks for keeper/dynasty owners that wanted to get a look at him this season. Oh well.

A lot of assumptions being made that this is the only reason why the Raiders didn't activate Bush.

THE NEWS

Raiders running back Michael Bush will not come off the PUP list on Wednesday, and he will end up missing his entire rookie season as he recovers from a broken right leg, the Sacramento Bee reports.

Our View

We thought the Raiders might give the rookie a shot down the stretch, but it looks like Justin Fargas and Dominic Rhodes will continue to be the No. 1 and No. 2 options. Don't expect to see LaMont Jordan again soon

Well, name a reason why, is Bush still healing? Seems like a REAL long time to recover from a broken bone. It has been well over a year.

Definitely. Maybe he's just not healthy enough, pure and simple. In any case, it stands to reason that the Raiders will look in free agency or the early part of the draft next year for their next starting RB - that is, unless Kiffin lets Fargas and Bush battle it out.

So, it appears that is the true reason Bush was not activated, which is clearly ridiculous.

from rotoworld:

Bush can still practice with the scout team and attend meetings. This move was more a result of Oakland not wanting K.C. to get its mits on LaMont Jordan, as Jordan likely would've been the one to go had Bush been activated. Coach Lane Kiffin confirmed Bush was healthy enough to contribute if needed and expects him to compete to start next season.
