Michael Okwo cut? (1 Viewer)

Not sure they need a LB of the future really with Urlacher and Briggs both signed to long-term contracts, but Jamar Williams is the primary backup. With Rod Wilson hurt, I think Hunter Hillenmeyer would likely move to MLB if Urlacher went down and Williams would move to SLB. He will also back up Briggs at WLB and played well when Briggs missed some time last year.

Definitely Jamar Williams, he's a future starter somewhere. He can play all three spots, but SLB and coverage is probably his weakest. If Urlacher goes down this year, I think Briggs moves to the middle and Williams starts at WLB. They definitely should draft a LB next year with Urlacher's health seeming fragile, McClover and Roach are just special teamers.

Okwo was never healthy, but I'm surprised they didn't PUP him or something, pretty disappointing to give up on a third round pick this fast. And they cut their second round DE Bazuin, who could have been Tony Ugoh or Justin Blalock. If Angelo can't pick defense anymore, he should start packing his bags.

:blackdot: The only reason Williams or Okwo was thought of as a LB of the future was that Briggs was not signed long-term prior to last year. I don't see Williams as a starting caliber LB and Okwo obviously isn't one either.
