You were the one who made it sound like anyone associated with any gambling gets lifetime ban. I am just saying, I don't think any association with 'any gambling' will lead to that.

Link? Gambling has to be treated more seriously than other crimes in a sport-related industry because it undermines the integrity of the sport. Leading a high-stakes, interstate gambling ought to be treated more seriously than playing cards in a clubhouse. Gooding has proven to be more willing to drop the hammer on high-profile athletes who play beyond the law than any other commissioner in American sports (other than maybe Kinnisaw Mountain Landis). It's not too difficult to see how this case is very different from any other we have seen and what seems to be a likely conclusion.
