Micheal Spurlock is listed as the number 3 receiver on the depth chart on ESPN. Though 2 weeks ago, he seemed to be the #2 guy. (also kick return for TD)

Last week Spurlock got 0 catches.. so what is his role on TB? is he just he primary kick returner/#4 receiver? or did he just happen to not catch any balls last week?

Mike Williams is obviously the #1.

On 1st and 2nd downs, Benn is usually the other wideout split out. This is because he's the best blocking wideout on the team, and they are slowly working him into the offense. On third downs, they replace Benn with Spurlock out wide, as Spurlock has more speed and can stretch the field. Plus, on third down you're usually not running the ball, so there is less need for a wideout who can stick a block.

Benn doesn't play the slot, which is where Stroughter/Preston Parker play, so he's almost never in the game on third downs. Conversely, Spurlock is almost never in on 1st and 2nd. I expect next year you will see Benn on all three downs, but he's not completely there yet.

thank you very much for the info, this is what I was looking for. so Spurlock prob will only get 0-3 targets a game that means.

That's likely the case. As each week goes on, Benn learns more and plays more. I expect him to be in more on all 3 downs as we go on.
