Over the past 10 seasons, an average of 6 teams do no make the playoffs again the following season. Assuming that trend continues, which 6 playoffs teams from this year will be back in the playoffs next year? Which 6 teams won't make the post seasson next year? And which 6 teams will replace them?Basically:SAME:A, B, C, D, E, FOUT:G, H, I, J, K, LNEW:M, N, O, P, Q, RWe can bump this in a year and see how smart or dumb we all were . . .

Interesting. Seattle makes sense when you think about it, but probably would have been the last one that I'd have thought of if asked to guess the top 5. Probably would have guess PIT (or maybe even NYG) before them.

Really, I could see the entire AFC staying the same because the options beyond the top 7 look pretty gross. Interesting to note that the only change in the AFC this year was INDY in for PITT and that - for the first time ever - the Final Four of a Conference is the same for the second consecutive year.

Interesting.. A lot of KC love in here. I know Reid is a plus but it's hard to believe they will have a QB in place (FA or rookie) that will get them to the playoffs next year.

Yeah, I can see the pitt-miami-sd selections in the AFC but that one looks like a stretch.
 
I think AFC will largely remain the same, with my only expected change to be PIT (or maybe CLE) replacing BAL. I'd think the Top 4 NFC teams (SF GB SEA ATL) will also remain, w/ NYG replacing WAS and NO replacing MIN. ..BUT, with the 6 new team restraint, I'd go this:SAME: NE, DEN, CINCY, HOU, SF, GBIN: PIT or CLE, MIA, NYG, NO, CHI, STL (why not, lol)OUT: BAL, IND, WAS, MIN, SEA, ATL

Sorry about no AFCS as I yanked Texans on the edit to make it 6/6. I really have no idea then. I'm leaving them out now though and KCC in. I think they will either have Vick or Geno next year and in that division a real coach and a real QB is already good enough for 8 or 9 wins in a weak AFC.

As another footnote, 31 of the 80 division winners repeated from one season to the next (just under 40%). This year was an anomally, as 6 of the 8 division winners from 2011 did so again in 2012. The highest in any other of the past 10 years was 4 repeat division winners. Compare that to 2010 --> 2011 when the Patriots were the only team to win their division again. Then again, the Pats have won the AFC East 9 of the past 10 years (and tied for first the year they didn't win).Division titles the past 10 years:
