Mike Bell, injured finger (1 Viewer)

Why are you guys still talking about a dislocated finger?????

He suffered a displaced fracture...
Thats what I read in the article now.So I should trade him right? Thats it for Mike Bell for a few weeks at least? Enough time for Cobbs to steal this job?

It's a compound fracture of his right middle finger...

He is still expected to play week 2...

Also in the article: Skeletor has named Tatum Bell the starter again for week 2 and Mike Bell will rotate in [sorry Cedric Cobbs owners]...

"The bone came out and the fingernail came up, but it looked like it went back in place," Shanahan said of the injury. "He should be able to go."

Bell's not going to let a little finger injury keep him on the sideline. He'll simply tape it up like he did against St. Louis.

"I had to suck it up, this isn't college, it's the NFL," Bell said. "I can play."
ouch. It's a miracle he didn't fumble, palying with that.

I was wondering about that myself, cardiackid. He's probable on the injury report. I'm not sure what the consensus was for how it would affect him.

Tatum Bell will run away with this job so fast it isn't even funny. Sorry, but the clock has struck 12 for Mike Bell.

Yea, you may be right, but he could also fumble a couple more times, and be right back at 12 totes a game coming off the bench in the 2nd qtr.I think Shanny liked the Anderson / Tatum combo results last year and will try to re-produce that scenario again somehow w/ MB or Cobbs filling in for MA. For me, this is more of a "toss in" as part of a bigger deal, but one with decent upside if things continue 50/50ish or better for Mike Bell. At least he's a "backup" getting 15+ touches a game currently and looks @ the goal line.

Broncos | M. Bell practices Thursday

Thu, 14 Sep 2006 18:42:35 -0700

Jeff Legwold, of the Rocky Mountain News, reports Denver Broncos RB Mike Bell (finger) is expected to participate fully for Week 2.

If I was a Mike Bell owner I would not get to excited. Shanahan would rotate running backs even if Walter Payton and Samkon Gado were his two backs and who is starting would still be a game time desicion.

Assume Tatum will not run the ball in from the 1 in 3 attempts(look at game 1 last season) and need a power back.

Bell will be that guy.

Okay - If Bell has some toe and Bell is out who is the next guy in line? No way can T Bell hold up for 30 carries a game. Somebody has to share the load.
