Notes from Mike Tomlin's news conference:

Willie Parker's injury is a shoulder sublexation, not a torn labrum, which according to Tomlin means the shoulder popped out briefly & went back into place during the Redskin game. It was the same injury as Ryan Clark who missed one week. Parker is expected to practice and play this week. Tomlin said the knee is 100% and a non-issue.

Tomlin characterized Ben Roethlisberger's play last week as a "non winning performance". He said it is important that Ben get more practice time this week and is hopeful he can practice tomorrow. If he doesn't get enough practice then Leftwich will get the start.

Deshea Townsend will miss this week's game with a hamstring and Bryant McFadden is still recovering from his broken forearm. Tomlin said McFadden will be returning soon but won't be available this week meaning that William Gay will start at CB.

The Steelers also signed veteran Fernando Bryant to help out at CB. He or Anthony Madison will be brought in as the 3rd corner on the nickle/dime packages. Bryant is a former first round pick of the Jaguars and played some time with the Lions (big surprise) and was a final cut this year of the Patriots.

Lamarr Woodley worked out today and is expected to return to practice. Marvel Smith worked out today and may return to practice but Tomlin said Smith has a lot of work to do to prove his ready to play.

Heath Miller is no longer wearing the boot but Tomlin said he'll likely need another week off.

That's about it...

I don't like that comment about Big Ben AT ALL. I was hoping for a huge game vs. the Chargers in a shootout.
Tomlin said they felt that Ben could afford to miss practice last week because the Colts defense was fairly straight forward. He said the Chargers are a more complex defense and Ben is going to need time on the practice field.I think this was some prodding to get Ben to practice sooner this week.

Bump Phillip Rivers up the ranking. Steelers will shut down LT but Rivers will produce with the CBs out. One more week for Chambers to get healthy....VJax, Floyd, Gates and Chambers will be running wild in the Pitts secondary in a must win game for the Chargers

I hope you are right. Ben didn't appear to suffer any real setbacks during the game. Actually did a lot of very good things in moving the ball, just made some stupid decisions. I have visions of Holmes, Ward and Washington running wild in that secretary.

No you di'nt! Did you just call the Chargers back 7 a bunch of skirts!!?....

Oh, nm. They've been playing like a bunch of skirts all year! Carry on.

Note to self - one should not have any other windows up with "hub" or "you" in it while also trying to think intelligently about fantasy football..
