Mike Williams (1 Viewer)

Mike William's failed as a Lion because he couldn't get into the game. Lack of motivation? Poor work ethic? Not skilled enough? Or just plain disliked from the coaching staff up to the front office? Who really knows what was going on? Roy Williams went to bat for the guy, but 3-13 Detroit decided it was best to put backup QB McCown into the game at WR, rather than actually play the #10 draft pick that they had invested multiple millions in. Let's see if he is well regarded enough, talented enough, motivated enough, in Oakland to be given a chance. I for one would like to see him play in at least a few games before I decide what kind of player the guy can be.
 What he said.

Bump why? Curry and Porter are clearly the go to weapons...
I am not bumping it to say that Mike Williams is going to be the #2 in Oakland.
I guess I was curious why you bumped a dead topic from May 02nd on a dead debate? You didn't explain what you were looking for???The post was about Mike Williams being number 2. He isn't and won't be. Why bump? Just curious.
First of all congrats for joining FBG today - I hope you like it here- seriously. The preseason hype building up with BWM was another example of the hype of a player far exceeding any reasonable expectations. Many people -including myself seem to believe that a player can change teams and that in itself can fix - lazy work ethic, bad attitude, horrible coaching or "He just needs to be in the right system".I was high on David Boston this year for some of these reasons and feel that by looking back at some of the "kool aid" being passed around in the preseason/ offseason we can avoid these type mistakes.

Glad I avoided that mistake with Randy Moss......

He's still only 23, way too early to write him off. I didn't expect him to be the #2 this year, but he has a good chance of winning the job next year.

Glad I avoided that mistake with Randy Moss......
But Randy was a proven commodity - he was a multiple probowler therefore he had proven before that he was great.

Yes. I wish I had not passed on Randy... We have been doing a standard redraft for 7 yrs and this year switched to Dynasty/Salary Cap/Auction format.Moss was taken for the bid of 80 dollars with a budget of 1000.... In other words he went for the same price as Lee Evans and Fitzgerald. Steal.I have been a FBG member for years.. always read on here and never posted. Bored at work today and made the move from another posting forum to this one. Not trying to pick on you earlier. I reread it and it sounded snippy and obnoxious. I was just curious if you still thought he could be a number 2 for this yr, or why you were bumping it....

Moss had several great years in Minny but failed in Oakland. He had a lazy work ethic, bad attitude, horrible coaching and was probably not in the right system. Now that he has great coaching, is in the right system and has improved his work ethic, he is a stud wr again. Boston didn't have near the pedigree that Moss had but he did have a couple very nice years in Arizona. He eventually went to SD and Miami and things didn't work out. He's a guy who probably wasn't in the right system and never cleaned up his act. I wonder what could have happened if he had played for New England. If the system is right, a player can change....

knowing the defenses plays before they happened would have definitely helped boston...

I agree. I wish there was a way to un-bump so we could get relevant posts to the top. Of course this post is just going to bump it to the top. 'Doh.
