Mikel Leshoure carted off the practice field (1 Viewer)

When are official Injured Reserve designations announced?
They can do it anytime, but if they do it now he is considered waived and can be claimed by other teams. The Lions will have to name him to the final 53-man roster, then place him on IR.

Good information jon mx.So if the Lions haven't already IRed him that means they will wait until after preseason and before the season to name him to the final 53 man roster thereby exposing a player who has played well enough to earn a spot on the roster, just so they can place MeShoure on IR. Basically they will be exposing a rosterable player just so they can move Mikel to IR. If they felt that LeSoure was done they wouldn't incure that risk and would simply IR him now. Since they have not IRed LeSoure and will have to expose a player the announcement that his surgery was successful probably has more weight to it than some people are assuming.Right now we have no way to know how he will recover but the team has announced that the surgery was successful and they have not IRed LeSoure meaning they will expose a rosterable player, had they felt he had no chance to return they wouldn't expose a rosterable player and would simply place him on IR right now and not take that sort of risk.

At what time do you pull the trigger on this guy. We don't have an IR spot in our dynasty league, so I could just wait until later in the season to grab him as a FA. Or do you just grab him now at a discounted price and stash him on the bench?

Interested in this as well. Roughly one-third who suffer this injury never make it back. He's young, so it's likely that he will - but at what cost? Less explosive? No longer starter quality? Buck the trend and perform well?At what point in a dynasty league rookie draft should he land?

In the recently completed FBGuys Dynasty League rookie draft, he went 3.02.
