Miles Austin hurts hammy (1 Viewer)

Miles Austin will be sidelined for "at least" one week of training camp with his strained hamstring.

The Cowboys insist they are "not worried" about Austin, but as Clarence Hill of the Forth Worth Star-Telegram cautions, "these things can linger." Austin's 2011 season was a disappointment due to injuries to both hamstrings, making this a situation to monitor. Austin is sure to miss Dallas' preseason opener.

This is the same injury that hampered him last year. He seemed to be good value as the wr16 going adp 43. However, this is pretty worrisome. He spent the whole off-season trying to condition himself to avoid this injury..yet here it is flaring up already.

Thoughts?

As someone who has owned Austin the last two seasons, this may be the knife in the heart of his value for me. He is an incredibly frustrating player to own because when he plays, Romo finds him early and often. Unfortunately, these persistent hamstring issues kept him off the field quite a bit last year. I simply don't want to own him if this is going to be a problem all season (and it looks already like it may be). Especially when there are WR's like Steve Smith, Colston, Lloyd, etc going in the same area (according to FFC). Could be a boost to Dez and Witten as well since they will be the only 2 skill players Romo can rely on if Austin goes down.

He seems like a player with more risk than reward at current ADP around WR18. I would rather have S. Smith, D. Bowe or A. Brown than him.
