Miles Austin (1 Viewer)

We all know Austin suffered when Romo went down. Let's factor in all these things like Dez is out, Roy Williams may not play, Ariz has a bad defense, etc. But how is this guy again ranked high (14 in PPR)?

Since week 9 his number of receptions per game has been: 2-2-2-3-4-2-3. Looks like WR3/4 to me.

Guys ranked below him include Vincent Jackson (15), Colston (22), Djax (27), Santonio Holmes (30). Why?

Another factor against him - Kitna refuses to throw the ball deep. All he does is check down to Witten. That is the primary reason Austin isn't getting receptions.

MAYBE against Arizona's brutal defense this changes, but considering the last 7 games, I doubt it.

Had to start him last week, and fortunately his TD bailed me out, but I can't risk it again. He simply hasn't done anything since Romo went down. I feel like we keep looking for reasons (Dez is out! Roy is out! They have a great matchup!) and he keeps underperforming.

Benching him for VJax and Webb.

Tell me about it. Now I'm looking for a reason for him to deliver his owners a Christmas gift.Is it possible?

Well that's a different question. Is it possible? Yes, absolutely. They do target him in the redzone, and they also have been doing end arounds to keep him involved. So if he gets a TD he might be OK. Plus there was that Jax game where he went over 100 with Kitna. From a fantasy perspective, he's actually put up decent numbers most weeks. But from a football perspective, he's clearly no longer an elite WR. The fact that Kitna can't throw him the deep ball makes him unreliable. If you don't have better options, throw him out there and hope for the best. Fortunately for me, I have VJax and Webb.

Just don't trust him right now. As per say no deep ball with Kitna and that's his forte. Started him last week and missed out on the title game this week. Can still win 3rd place money so I starting Britt and Bowe over him. He was a keeper for me this year and I seriously doubt I'll keep him next year. Witten seems to be the better receiver right now for Dallas. He's has the ability to have a real good game this week but if I were a gambler I'd bet against it. Even with Bowe's lackluster few weeks he's a better option for me. Britt has a better chance of blowing up than Austin in week 16.

sure his targets are down but this guy is guaranteed to get a couple red zone looks and he is very explosive. im playing him.

2-3 catches is all he gets a game, better hope for a TD with one of them... :goodposting:
