MJD 100 yds + 2 td's this week (1 Viewer)

MJD is going to be the key to the Jag's offensive game plan this week vs Indy.

When you combine the fact that the Colts are very good vs the pass and the Jag's will want to keep the ball away from Manning I think MJD could have a great day vs Indy.

What exactly impressed you soo much from MJD's 10 carry, 10 yard performance last week to bust out for 100+ yards and two TDs this week? :excited:

I would love for MJD to have that kind of a day. Unless someone kidnaps Fred Taylor, it may be hard for him to get that many carries.

did you actually see that game or are you just looking at the stat line?if you saw the game, you know it wasn't MJD's fault in the running game...the Bills defense seem to play in the backfield when he was in the game, when Taylor was in...it was like the Red Sea parting. Kinda odd.

Still, if that persists this week he's not going to run well.Listen, I am the biggest MJD believer out there. But I am not starting him. Maybe he does well. Maybe not. I'm betting on not. I think you would have to be happy with about 7 carries for 32 yards and a TD.

 Yeah, the Bills defense really favored Fred Taylor

He's right though, they stacked the box when MJD was in and then when Fred Taylor was inserted, it collapsed. Taylor had that one 50+ yd TD run and it wasn't because he made any spectacular moves.

You're wasting your time. Switz decided Jones-Drew was going to have a bad season back in August.

Recently I've posted a few times that I've been a bit more impressed by MJD. However, outside of leagues where return yardage counts, I've been pretty correct about MJD.

I think you have a very interesting take on the word correct.

2nd that. The MJD bust threads should have been burned a long time ago. The kid is definitely a pretty unique talent with a knack for scorin' TD's. I still don't think they use him correctly (very similar to Marion Barber in Dallas). And no, I don't own him.

The more I see the Jags play, the more convinced I am that unless Taylor and/or Garrard goes down, MJD is just a utility back. He's a great return guy, goalline vulture, and when Garrard is starting, MJD's value is down due to his passblocking abilities (insert lights out Merriman joke here). They're winning games with the current utilization of MJD, hard on the Colts heels so Del Rio isn't going to change his philosophy until it stops working. MJD may tear it up but you can't count on it and entering the playoffs, you can't start him unless you're backed into a corner.

I'm a Colts homer, so take this with a grain of salt...

The Colts have the #2 ranked defense in the NFL.

HTH

I'm in 2 leagues, with 2 different scoring systems. Here's where MJD ranks among RBs through week 12:

League 1: #6

League 2: #9

One way or another, the guy scores consistently. Whether it's a GL plunge, a 15 yard screen pass TD, a garbage time TD, or a kick return for TD. Last week is a perfect example. He was doing absolutely nothing all game, and just when you think he's going to put up a goose egg, he scampers for a late 17 yd TD. The many ways in which MJD can get you points is what makes him so valuable and he should be in your lineup every week.

Really? Here's how he's scored in my league:3 <-- worthless4 <-- worthless2 <-- worthlessBYE22 <-- great, but most owners didn't start him I'd bet34 <-- great12 <-- ok5 <-- flex player maybe5 <-- flex player maybe18 <-- good9 <-- ok9 <-- okSo, how has he not been sporadic (as I said he'd be), not as good as the hype (as I said he'd be), limited due to Taylor's playing (as I said he'd be)He hasn't lived up to the hype, sorry...but in H2H leagues he's been a detriment to your team in about 6 games, and has been a #3 caibre RB in 2-3 games, only a solid RB in 2-3 games, and in one of those most of his owners probably didn't start him.

Actually that's completely wrong. Where he ranks is largely due to 2 or 3 games. The rest haven't been that good.

Switz has lost touch with reality. He said people were morons for drafting MJD before Fred Taylor :lmao:

In my 3 leagues, all with different scoring systems:

MJD.....FT

#8.....#31

#8.....#50

#5.....#35*

*Only one where return yardage counts

If that is being "correct" I want to know what "wrong" is :lmao:
