MJD ahead of schedule (1 Viewer)

So much for the micro fracture speculation.

Per Chris Wesseling tweet and link to article.

Chris Wesseling: Maurice Jones-Drew's knee rehab is ahead of schedule, already running. Surgery was a simple scope after all.

MJD running

Unfortunately I traded him based on the false rumors.

I traded MJD last night but not because of fear for his bone on bone condition. It was more a fear of idiot Del Rio and how Rashard Jennings looked last year. I can see Jennings getting more carries to lighten MJD's load a bit. I dont think his knee was nearly as bad as the gloom and doomers predicted but it "may" be the start of concern for him.

Did you get even close to fair value for him? I'm curious to see what value he commands.

Yep. You seem to know your way around a trade. Looks good to me.

I panicked, rookie pick 1.05. :bag:
I'll go against the grain (and your own opinion) and say you got about what he's actually worth. I don't think MJD has much left and I don't think he'll be a fantasy starter by mid-season next year (or whenever we see football again). That being said, trades are also about perceived value, and the other guy "won" from that standpoint. MJD is definitely perceived to be worth a lot more than what you received. In other words, you could have done better because of the name involved...but I don't think you'll regret the trade once the games are actually being played.

I guess that makes me feel a little better, but is there a history of elite rb's falling off a cliff at 26?Last night I offered the guy back the 1.05 + my 2012 1st and he laughed at me so I hope it burns him.

I don't have any data for it. I usually go with my gut on these things. Hey, I've been wrong plenty of times before but I think you'll be glad he laughed. I just don't see MJD being on many championship fantasy teams. But like I said, trading is also about what you should have been able to get, and you should have gotten more. I just know that he won't be on my teams because I don't value him as highly as other folks. I don't like the injury, the team or the direction I think he's headed. In the end, this will become one of those trades that seems like a big win or loss...and ends up being pretty much nothing either way. Just leave it and move on.

My "gut" tells me mjd is a top 5 rb in 3 of the next 4 years. I don't own him but wish I did and would give up 1.1 without hesitation if I had that.

You should be happy he declined. You would have compounded your mistake further.

I agree. I think he'll be OK from this injury but my gut tells me he's going to be in and out. He's taken a beating over the last several years. He's has a backup that's solid, I won't be reaching for MJD this year just to get a RB on my roster. I'll be looking elsewhere as I just don't see the monster numbers we're used to out of MJD anymore.

http://nflbuzz.yardbarker.com/blog/nflbuzz/veteran_rb_talks_about_his_recovery_from_knee_surgery/4549682

"My knee is coming along great, I'm ahead of schedule, if the Jaguars or Dr. (James) Andrews are listening to this, they're probably going to be like why is this guy running? We told him not to run until May,” the veteran back said during Late Hits. “But I gotta do what I can for my fantasy owners. I owe them. I owe everyone for the season I had last year. I take it personally because I'm a fantasy guy too, and it hurts that I wasn’t able to be there for my team, you know, for my owners and my teammates (and I say teammates are the fans) when they needed in the playoffs, so I owe you guys.”
I know players are going to talk themselves up, but for some reason i actually believe him and think he follows through.

I think Drew is talking himself up so he can trade himself back to Moderated for the 1.05 and 2012 1st, plus another throw in

ya i dont think blatantly disregarding doctors orders in april is helpful to this guys condition or long term value.

Makes me feel a bit better now after trading FOR MJD in my main league. The previous owner panicked and offered me MJD for Best and a late 1st rounder.

What did ya get for him?

Seriously?
Yes, I listened to all the ridiculous fear mongers. I'll never do that based on unsubstantiated rumors again.Definitely one of the worst trades I've ever done. :loco:
That's a tough break, if you were really that scared you should have just overpayed for jennings/karim.
Excellent advice. Jennings+Karim would've been a lot cheaper than trading a stud away.

MJD is being overly positive here. Supposedly his doctors were upset to hear that he was running before he should have been. And MJD has never denied that the injury was bone-on-bone so I wouldn't say all is well with MJD.
