MLB Network (1 Viewer)

Fair Tax!
Seriously. It is going to ruin my health, marriage, relationships, job and anything else. I won't sleep. I won't watch anything else at night. I won't be able to have a conversation anymore without reference to it.

That show at night is dangerous. Be careful, if you value anything else in life, do not watch this show. It will suck you in and will not let go. Be warned.

MLB Network + MLB Extra Innings (for the first time for me) = Baseball Heaven
If you get extra innings, does it come with mlb network?I'm envisioning a health kick where I watch West Coast baseball while i do eliptical all night!
I had mlb before i got the extra innings, not sure if it comes with itPerfect for the health kick, i got on the bike last night for the later games...it was great.

We just moved and are attempting the whole "lets see if we can survive without TV" thing. I had MLB Network during the last couple of months before moving and was so addicted it was sick. I can only imagine now that there are games going on.

Probably best that I stay away.

MLB Network >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> NFL Network

the MLB At Bat app for the iphone kicks ###

I'm very tempted by MLB.TV. The video functions look absolutely amazing
Is it really that good? Not really wanting to pay for something when CBS sports has a free app that's seemed to work pretty good over the last couple of days.
I've found the cbs app buggy and I hate to slide bar nav at the top but it is freeI've never paid more than $.99 for an app so buying mlb is against the grain for me but its real nice, I can definitely envision more video content and perhaps even live in a season or two. I wish the NFL put an app out like this.

The quality was pretty great the last couple of years when I got it. I'm considering it again but only the monthly plan - just long enough to see the Bucs eliminated from contention and then I can focus on the DBacks.

I got the mlb.com package and most all the feeds are choppy, like Directv during a storm. Is this typical. The picture quality is very good, but its choppy. I have a hardwired ethernet connection on a cable modem, so the speed is not an issue. I tried disbaling my antivirus and oa few other things to no avail.

Suggestions?

Not typical. Go get a new cable box. It sounds like you may have an old one. If that does not work get an amp for your cable lines. HTH. If you are talking about computer feeds go straight for the amp on your cable lines. This will work I bet.

When I do the speed tests, it checks out fine, so I do not think that is the problem. I did notice that I was running both AVG and Avast, so I unistalled AVG this morning. I am hoping that helps.

My speed checks were fine also. The amp made a HUGE difference.

Do you have a link to the amp you used?

Took my cable modem to Time Warner and got a new one. Now the pic is beautiful with no hiccoughs or problems. Thanks Pik95

You can't run 2 separate antivirus programs on the same pc. From microsoft...
Important: Before you install antivirus software, check to make sure you don't already have an antivirus product on your computer. If you do, be sure to remove the product you don't want before you install the new one. It can cause problems on your computer to have two different antivirus products installed at the same time.

Yea I been having big problems with MLB.TV. never had any problems last year or watching other streams of sports.

Continues to be the best channel on TV and second place is so far away NASA would need to redirect the Hubble.

And on that note, I almost went down to my local Comcast office yesterday to burn it down. Get my Yankee game rollin, put the kid to bed, sit down and get MLB Network on the PIP so that I can flip back and forth and......... nothing. Ch. 280. Gone.

At this point, the wife left the room and closed the door to the bedroom, and probably pushed a bookshelf in front of of it just to keep her safe.

Luckily, I managed to control my temper long enough to remember that there is an HD option, and so while my body temp is now over 500 degrees from the evil hatred filling my blood, I find the HD spot and it works. Blood started to cool. From that spot I found the new channel that they moved it to - without notice I mind you - all the way up there at 738 or somesuch.

Crisis averted. They better watch that **** with my MLBNetwork. One false move and I will burn **** down.

I actually don't like it at all. Their highlight show lacks.......highlights. Just a bunch of guys sitting around talking.

Baseball Tonight shows clips every 30 seconds it seems. Seems like this network is much more sparce.

:lmao: They show live game lookins constantly and give detailed, intelligent analysis. The fact that MLB Network is on 24/7 compared to Baseball Tonight being an hour/half hour highlight show might explain the time between highlights. Baseball Tonight can't touch this channel.

 I don't know how this is a possible opinion of any scale. Are you watching the same station?

What did Matt Vasgersian do before he got this gig, sell used cars?

They had a live look in last night on a Junior home run, and the Seattle announcer noted it was his 400th as a Mariner. The rest of the night Vasgersian kept talking about how great it was that we witnessed Junior's 400th career home run on the network.

Vasgersian broadcasted XFL games and was the play-by-play guy for the Brewers and the Padres (and maybe a couple others).

The only real gripe I have is the delay. If I use Player tracker- I can often tell what will happen next in the game I am watching before I see it (very irritating). Same with following along on Gamecast or similar.

For instance I am watching the bottom of the third with two outs and a batter up. My Player tracker will flash up the the next guy for the opposing team is now at bat. So I know the guy i see batting is going to be out. Kind of ruins the experience for me, so I turned off the Player Tracker, even tho that was one of the bigger attractions of the format.

:) I knew your problem was in that area. I am not sure what amp I got. I got a hot one, lol. Ill take a look when I can.

This channel is great, no doubt. I've been using this site for the past few nights. There is usually 2 games running concurrently. This is my first year without MLB EI in about 7 years. I just couldn't afford it this year, but this site is a decent alternative so far.

Yep same here... I actually had to call and ask where it went... stole away like the Colts to 738. At least you HAVE an HD option, we don't have it here in ghetto Maryland :banned:

Thanks- I forwarded that link to some overseas friends who cannot get the alternatives.

I have to be honest, I don't hear it all the time, but there's a knocking going on in the background during highlights that is really ####### annoying. Once that stops, there's nothing but good coming from Comcast channel 233

Watched the one hour special on Rickey Henderson, "Leadoff Legend", this weekend and loved it. I thought I knew quite a bit about Rickey, but there were some great little nuggets that I had never heard before.

There was a long SI article on him about 10 years ago and one of the things that they mentioned that people (or at least I) wasn't so aware of is that he would see a lot of pitches in his first at bat so by the time his teammates came to bat, they had seen all the pitcher's pitches.
 That's pretty much the job of a lead-off man in his first at-bat.

A bunch of ####### comedians in this place.I was talking about things like the fact that coming out of high school he really liked football and actually didn't like baseball according to Rickey, but his mom convinced him to play baseball because he could have a longer career playing baseball. Guess he took that whole "longer career" thing to heart. Also didn't know that he wanted to sit out Tony Gwynn's last game, so not to take away from Gwynn's day, getting his 3000th hit. Gwynn asked him to play anyway.

Sorry, after rereading my response, it does come off douchy. Did not mean it that way.
