He's not wrong.

Don't get me wrong, there's no humor to be found here, and celebrating - even in a wry or ironic way - a murderer is pretty sick. He's right though, that if King hadn't been murdered, there wouldn't be a federal holiday - or if there was a declared day, it wouldn't be on the same level as Memorial Day, Veterans Day, etc. It would be more like... Arbor Day or something.
