Mock draft - Attempt #2. 2 rounds (1 Viewer)

I think Bracie's right. To not pay Albert simply to burn the top pick on his replacement seems like a bad move for a team in rebuilding mode. How does it make them better to do that?Unless his injuries have made him less effective. Then they're upgrading the spot and it's a different story entirely.
There have been similar discussions on the Jaguars.com message board in relation to Joeckel. Monroe is doing a fine job at LT and has one year left on his rookie deal. If they take Joeckel at the #2 they could play him at RT, but then they just spent the #2 pick on a RT. If they play Joeckel at LT and move Monroe to RT they just changed the position of one of their few talented young players and there is little chance that they are going to keep Monroe after the 2013 season if they are only going to offer him RT money. Either way the pick does not make a lot of sense.
Oh that is awful. They took Eugene Monroe in the first round in 2009 and then they also used their top pick in the second round to take Eben Britton, two offensive tackle's back-to-back at the top of that draft and now their are some whispers they might take Joeckel? Wow, this draft class must really stink to high heaven if the two teams at the top are actually considering taking an OLT who isn't viewed as a stud when they are well manned at that position just because they are afriad to take someone else.Everyone should temper expectations if either KC or Jacksonville take Joeckel.
The Jaguar fans that support taking Joeckel do see him as an elite prospect. It is because they view him as the BAP that they want him. Monroe is doing well, Britton has washed out after a decent rookie season and some injuries. RT is a big need for the Jags(one of many).

I just can't imagine Rivera tying his coaching future to Gabbert for another year.
Rivera remains in Carolina, Mularkey was fired in Jacksonville. Gus Bradley takes over, Jedd Fisch is the new OC.Neither of them have any ties to Gabbert, nor are they likely to be fired if he is deemed the best QB after TC and flames out again. The new GM is David Caldwell formerly of the Falcons - and while he might not get fired if they don't bring in a QB to JAX, he may get an earful from the new owner who wants to get butts in seats (and luxury boxes rented oud) and jersey sales to go up.Tebow, anyone? Or is that too blatant a move...
Tebow to Jacksonville? Now there is a new thought. :wall:
Heh, threw the Tebow in there to provoke that reaction ;)And to highlight that free agency can alleviate some of the need for a new QB (what we know, though, is that Tebow is not the answer).Expect Caldwell to take a long hard look at making a trade for someone's back up - the UFA crop is highlighted by such luminaries as Jason Campbell, Matt Moore, David Carr, Rex Grossman and Matt Leinart.

Gus Bradley is a good situation to have an educated opinion on two of the better back ups that could be available. Flynn played for Seattle and his defense face Alex Smith multiple times.
