Monday Night Double Header.. You got to be Kidding! (1 Viewer)

June just called....wants your update back.

Just another reason why living in MNT time-zone rules. (The mountains and the oil are two other good reasons)

Not much difference between 12:30 and 1:30 the way I look at it.

At least it starts 1/2 hour earlier every other week this year.

Hawaii is nice this time of year...

Let's see, stay up late for one Monday night, or drag my butt out of bed for 10:00 a.m. start times on Sunday mornings.

East Coast rulezz!!

I don't mind going to bed late if I get to watch 2 games on a Monday night. The more games I can watch the better. I really wish there was a Saturday night game as well.

Can you imagine...... a prime time game on Saturday night, get up watch f'ball all day Sunday, have a prime time game Sunday evening and then just a prime time game on Monday evening. That would be my dream and my finaces worst nightmare.

I couldn't stand waiting around until 1 pm for the first games to start when I was on the east coast.Out here, as soon as I roll out of bed, football is on. I don't have to sit around and wait for it.

10am football rules dude. No sitting around for 4-5 hours waiting for the 1pm start. I've lived on both coasts, and the west coast p\/\/ns the east coast when it comes to NFL viewing schedules.

Amen. A big, fat greazy breakfast on a TV tray in front of the tube with coffee and bong hits. Besides if the games were later someone mught try to make me go to church or something.

This is truth. I grew up in Oregon (now live in CT), and there is no doubt it's better to be on the west coast. About the only thing about sports viewing in Oregon vs. east coast...but I actually have to do stuff early in the day on Sunday now. Not years ago...get up, watch football, day over. Great stuff.

i live in Cali and actually prefer the East Coast schedule... i have to set my alarm to get up at 10 am... especially after a Saturday night

If you can't get up for games at 10am, you're either 17 yrs old or need to lay low on the ecstasy.

...waiting for the big Milwaukee's Best can to thump somebody
:goodposting: It is football fella's who cares what time it's on?

It is nice rolling out of bed at 9:30, checking some injury reports on FBG's and watching football! It also isn't too convenient having a game start at 4:00 if your working like most of us on Monday afternoons!

Oh, how I love waking up at 9am, quick shower, drive down to the sports bar, order up a giant Farmer's Breakfast (shepards pie breakfast version--scrambled eggs, sausage, mashed potatoes, lamb medallions, cheese, all mixed into a bowl--and some Irished up coffee. 15 screens in front of me so I can see every play of every game at once. Watch the first set of games, order lunch for the second set, drive home and catch the nightcap.

It's soo painful going back east for holidays in December and having to wait until 1 to get my fix on Sunday morning.

Anyway, back on topic, if staying up late on Monday's a problem, just sleep for an hour or two at work. I do that anyway, at least now I'll have an excuse.

There are prime time games on Saturday nights. It's called college football.

College ball is great but it is no where near the level of NFL.NFL is unlike the NBA, NHL, and MLB because you can't afford to take games off. That is what makes the NFL the most unique professional sport in the business. Every game means something to these guys. The level of play even remains very high for those teams not in the playoffs. You can't beat the exhibition put on by a NFL game so I would perfer to watch a prime time NFL game vs college game.

I guess none of you West-Coast guys go out on Saturday nights, huh?Personally, football is football - but if I had to pick: East Coast all the way.Not saying I go out hard core every single Saturday night - to the point where I NEED to sleep in. But if you do have a late night here or there - at least you have some time Sunday morning to get a little extra sleep and still have time to care of biznas! But still, even on a typical Sunday morning, where the night before wasn't crazy - I still don't think waiting til 1:00 is bad (and I have watched games on both coasts so I've experienced both situations). And on a regular Sunday morning on the East Coast, you can wake up at your leisure. Then you have the time to: have some coffee, eat some breakfast, check out the latest injury reports and all the latest NFL & FF news, set your lineups (or check em to make sure they are set the way you want), shower, get dressed, check last minute updates on key or questionable players, and then meet up with the guys at the bar.Drink, eat, and watch games from 1-7. Then usually head home. Watch the Sunday night game from home. Now tell me - what is wrong with this?Nothing! ;)

 Sitting 4-5 hours waiting for the games to start?? I set my alarm for 11:40AM so I can make an early deposit, shower, eat, and check my lineup and any breaking/late NFL news...Just in time to sit on the couch and catch the pregame at 12, laptop by my side.Plus, football doesnt wrap up until after 11PM. FOOTBALL. ALL. DAY. LONG.Ive lived on both east and west timezones, and the west is NOT the best in this case.

I'd prefer East Coast to West Coast (not a morning person and don't mind staying up late), but I think the people in between probably have it best of all. 10am is way too early for football.

:lmao: @football at 10 am. god that would blow.

both my location and my job prevent me from being up that early.

It obviously depends on your lifestyle. As a single guy, who either bartends on Saturday nights, or is at a bar on Saturday nights, there's nothing better than waking up at your leisure, and puttering around before the games, cooking BBQ, meeting friends at the sports bar, whatever.

For a Sunday 10:00 a.m. start, I'd have to set the alarm. Which is fine, I rarely need more than 5 or 6 hours, but there should be a national law that alarm clocks are not to be used on Sunday mornings.

There is nothing better than 10 am Sunday games. It's like Christmas morning every Sunday. Tired or not, no matter how late I was up on Saturday, I get up at the crack of dawn to check my lineup and head out to watch the game.

When the afternoon games on Sunday are over around 4pm you have just enough time to get home, have some dinner and watch the 5:30 Sunday night game. Which finishes around 9pm, so you can pass out from your exhausting day early and not be tired for work the next day.

Dont try to sugar coat it. It aint workin.

7:00 Eastern Game 1 and 10:15 game 2.. That means that game 2 won't be over to 1"15 to 1:30 am eastern thats nutz...
 You think those of us on the west coast like all our games starting at 4pm when people are still at work or on their way home?

If you guys think 10 am is early, try watching football in Hawaii (although it's probably a fair trade-off)

Try living in Europe!! I'm a zombie untill around wednesday
Yep. 7 PM start times. I get home after the second game around 1:30 AM. Makes for a rough Monday and I don't get to see the late games on Sunday or Monday. But I am in 4 leagues so I get to spend most of my Sunday breaking down my lineups and listening to three hours of pregame on ESPN radio.

I dont know about the rest of you guy but i'm in Houston on central time and games start at 12 which is perfect for me because i like to celebrate football day. Get up fire up the grill, lay out snacks and hot wings, drinks, call over a couple of friends. I know its not very popular in here but I love to watch ESPN at 10. Boomer, Steve Y., and Mort help me decide who to put in the line up on sunday. By the time kickoff hit most of the meat is done the wife has prepared all the sides, taken the kids, and left the house and I celebrate my football day. What a day!!!!

Unless you're in a city that has a team. Then it is awful nice to go tailgate amongst friends 4 hours before the game!

I can vouge for this. Depending on daylight savings, we're waking up and heading to the sports bars at 7AM. Tough to get up sometimes if you go out or do anything a little late the night before. MNF is cool though if you can get off work early. Nothing like sneaking out of work and heading to the bar at 3pm to watch some football.
