Name the only QB to ever throw for 1,000 yards for two different teams...in the same season.

Name the only QB to play for two different teams in a season...and to throw for 2000 yards for one of those teams. Additionally, this was the only time any QB ever threw for 2500 total yards in a season, while playing for two teams (it's possible someone played for 3 teams and threw for 2500 yards, but I'm too tired to figure that out with my database right now).

None ever played with two teams in one season.

The answer to the 2nd question (2,500 yards with one team after playing in the same year with another team) is Bobby Layne.

The Curse of Bobby Layne -- hey Lions fans, after 2 games of the 2008 season, the 50 years will finally be over!

In 1958, after leading the Lions to 3 NFL Championships and providing Detroit nearly decade of Hall of Fame play, the Lions traded Bobby Layne. Bobby was injured during the last championship season and the Lions thought he was through and wanted to get what they could for him. According to Legend, as he was leaving for Pittsburgh Bobby said that Detroit "would not win for 50 years".
In 1958, the year of my birth, Layne had 171 yards in 2 games with DET, then 2339 the rest of the way with PIT, totaling 2,510.http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/L/LaynBo00.htm

Very good. That 1958 team has some pretty good QBs on it -- two HOFers and a future NFL MVP.
