Yes this event wasn't as bad as WW2.  Thanks for that, I'm sure the relatives of all the victims will be comforted by that.

 
At the end of the day, bad people do bad things.  No laws, or regulations, or much of anything else is going to change that.  Its human nature.

Shader, they want us (the west) to overreact. They want us to elect people like Trump and Le Pen, to shut down immigration, to treat all Muslims with suspicion. All of that helps them. Can't you see that?

As opposed to the bigotry that has seen hundreds of Frenchmen slaughtered on their home soil the past couple years?  

Far stricter scrutiny of and limits on Muslim immigration with some some deportation vs. an endless slaughter of French citizens that is sure to descend the nation into a civil war.   You have an odd way of weighing things.

Plus, you don't have very nuanced way of looking at this situation.  This may surprise you because they too are victims of Islamists.

At what point do you concede that changes need to be made to this social experiment?  Ever?

Or they sit back and chuckle at people who make excuses for them as they continue killing as many people as they can...extremism is not healthy but neither is political correctness...

OK.  I don't believe their goal as terrorists is to get people to overreact,  but let's say it is.   What's the correct response?

If changing my position means supporting halting immigration, placing all Muslims under suspicion, and electing nationalist leaders like Trump or Le Pen, then I can tell you right now I will NEVER change my position.

Need to stop the non-stop tv coverage of it. Every attack dominates the news and social media. The perps are just people with crappy lives who want to feel important.  Don't entice would be murderers by making them famous. I'd take religion out of it too. Who cares what their reasoning is for murdering people?  Calling them radical islamic terrorists gives the crime a whiff or importance and legitimacy.  Just call it murder and call them #######s and murderers.

No, the perps are people with an ideology so different from our own that most of us cannot grasp it. Yes they are murderers. Yes they are criminals. But they represent an ideology that is at war with ours.

With this happening on foreign soil, obviously our constitution / rights aren't overly relevant in this specific case, but...

As we see an escalation in these types of attacks, especially the ones here at home, I find myself wondering more and more which of our Constitutional rights is the most dangerous to those they were put into place to protect.
