Of course everyone is asking "Why didn't the Titans sign Collins earlier?" I have no idea and the timing of this is obviously odd, but if the Titans main goal was to pick and choose Vince Young's playing time and situations where he enters games...Kerry Collins is a much better fit than Billy Volek.

Kerry Collins is a better QB than Billy Volek, but the Titans are not going to make a playoff push this season and Collins isn't going to make a huge difference...except to Vince Young and his development. The main reason: KERRY COLLINS HAS A MUCH BETTER CHANCE OF STAYING HEALTHY FOR 16 GAMES THAN BILLY VOLEK DOES. Once Volek was injured Vince Young would have been forced into action. The fan base in Tennessee was going to force the Titans to play "the future" once Billy Volek was hurt. Yes, I said "once"...not "if".

The Kerry Collins signing is excellent news for Vince Young's development imo.

Convert him to WR. He'd be a BEAST.
Why would you think this? He's not particularly fast, has no idea how to run routes and hasn't had to develop his hands.
just a random suggestion :hophead: of course it's not going to happen. hypothetically, you don't think young could be a very good wr? hes fast enough, great open field runner, knows routs, has the size. qbs seem to be able to convert naturally to wr.
No, I don't think Young would be a very good WR. He would be among the slowest WRs in the league, and does not have the experience to compete with the other slow WRs. He is a great open field runner for a QB, not for a WR. Someone like Vick might be able to make a transititon to WR, but Young simply doesn't have the tools.
i'm guessing young's 4.58 is probably more around middle of the pack. even if not, boldin runs a 4.7. wasn't jerry rice around a 4.6/4.7 or something? as for the open field runner, imo young is good for any position. young has the tools. hypothetically, if he fails, it would be mental/attitude. young hated the suggestion of converting to wr. it implied that he wasn't capable of playing qb at the nfl level.

:hophead: :hophead: :hophead:

i'll chime in on the young is slow part...there is track speed and football speed and anyone who has ever watched this kid play should know that he has football speed in spades

unfortunately he's not playing WR or RB.VY sucks.

NFL Total Access:

They were just talking about how Tenn is not real happy with Youngs progress so far, they went on to say that both Leinart and Cutler are much more NFL ready than VY is.

Denver may end up with the best qB out of the whole draft.

This is the same guy that said Chris Simms will be a top 5 QB this year with HUGE Sleeper potential. He is intelligent with his Football knowledge, but goes out on a limb with projections like we all do

:goodposting: Mort can get inside information from people inside NFL teams, because of his connections; BUT one thing people have got to learn is that he is not a good talent evaluator.Same with Peter King and Don Banks at CNNSI.
