+1Wayne.Favre is gonna break down (physically) IMO.
Wayne:younger, better QB throwing the ball, a better receiver at this point in their respective careers, in a better offense, doesn't quit, doesn't have an injury concern with his QB, is the primary target on his team.Moss:historically a more prolific TD scorer, looks really neat when he ties his gloves to his face mask.Scale is slightly tipped in Wayne's favor, though the glove thing is awfully tempting.

No, at least... I don't think so. This elbow thing is problematic and we all know this is how it will end sooner or later. The only way Favre retires for good is when the body - specifically his ARM - finally lets him down. It has to happen sooner or later, and I think we may be seeing it now (this season).shredhead said:Dizzy said:Wayne.Favre is gonna break down (physically) IMO.Haven't we been hearing this for the past 18 years or so?

Yeah you're right... I'm sure he'll play well into his 60's. Good point.2003 called....it wants it post backDizzy said:Favre is gonna break down (physically) IMO.
but cromartie has elite speedCalBear said:Last night's game showed that Moss is a tall WR with good hands, who still takes many plays off. It also showed that he no longer has elite speed; I don't think he outran Cromartie on a single play all night. Wayne because he's in every play.
Cromartie is fast, but can you imagine Moss of five years ago getting covered step for step on go routes all day, by anyone?but cromartie has elite speedCalBear said:Last night's game showed that Moss is a tall WR with good hands, who still takes many plays off. In the rain, against the Jets Front 7 and with a running game that was fairly consistent most of the night? I think you are being overly critical of a guy that was traded to Minnesota less than a week ago, but played and produced down the stretch.Cromartie is fast, but can you imagine Moss of five years ago getting covered step for step on go routes all day, by anyone?but cromartie has elite speedCalBear said:Last night's game showed that Moss is a tall WR with good hands, who still takes many plays off. What does the rain or the running game have to do with it? I'm saying that Moss used to have the ability to blow by defenders; he had a top gear that no one could match, and he doesn't have that anymore. He's still fast, he's still able to use his body, arms and hands to make catches (as he did on his TD), but frankly, against man to man coverage he didn't really get open all night long.In the rain, against the Jets Front 7 and with a running game that was fairly consistent most of the night? If Peyton throws 50 times a game Wayne. If not Moss.xenon said:??Who and why? Does Moss have new life?Should Farvv's tendonitis be concerning? Will Wayne continue on pace?
From what I saw there would've been a lot more separation if Cromartie wasn't allowed to grab Moss. There was at least one blatant pull on the jersey early and it appeared that Cromartie was constantly hooking Moss' arms as he was trying to run with him. I agree that Moss isn't as fast as he was but he had only been on the team a few days and still put up good numbers against one of the better defenses in football. What does the rain or the running game have to do with it? Yeah, I hear ya. Chances are, eventually Favre is going to fall apart. My problem is, people have been trying to predict his demise pretty much his whole career. It hasn't happened yet, so I'm not even going to pretend to be able to predict when it's going to happen. No, at least... I don't think so. False and False. He did outrun Cromartie on the first bomb, but Favre under threw him and he had to slow down and then Cromartie was there. So, that's just plain false. As for taking plays off, I am so sick of this line. Show me one play where he "took" off. One. I watched the whole game and didn't see him take any plays off. False.CalBear said:Last night's game showed that Moss is a tall WR with good hands, who still takes many plays off. Actually, it's 100% that he will. No human being to this point in history is immortal. HTH.Seriously, all those suggesting that people ALWAYS say Favre is losing it...the Favre nay-sayers WILL be right eventually - and as he gets older, the chances that they are right this time increases dramatically.Yeah, I hear ya.
