Moss and Wayne (1 Viewer)

Who and why?

Does Moss have new life?

Should Farvv's tendonitis be concerning?

Will Wayne continue on pace?

I'll take Wayne in PPR. I think Moss will have a slight edge in yards & TDs, but Wayne will make up with higher reception totals.

Your poll is broked.

But I think Wayne. Too many questions surrounding Favre and Moss (possible suspension, age, deteriation of skills, Favre's elbow, Moss' heart, new team, etc.)

Moss, everytime he's single covered favre will heave it up to him. Also as the season goes on he'll be more familiar with the playbook.

Moss owner here.

I think it will be Wayne, mainly because of Manning's talent and the lack of a ground game in Indy. That said, it looks like Moss will get a lot of deep targets from Favre which could lead to some monster games.

Wayne:

younger, better QB throwing the ball, a better receiver at this point in their respective careers, in a better offense, doesn't quit, doesn't have an injury concern with his QB, is the primary target on his team.

Moss:

historically a more prolific TD scorer, looks really neat when he ties his gloves to his face mask.

Scale is slightly tipped in Wayne's favor, though the glove thing is awfully tempting.

Wayne. Especially in that the Colts don't seem to be running away with the division this year. Hopefully we don't have to worry about the possibility of him playing half a game during the FF playoffs.

Wouldn't mind hearing thoughts on AJ in this comparison. He's been a bit disappointing so far with the injury and the HOU offense struggling at times.

Doesn't Moss get the edge merely by the fact he has no bye week? What about fantasy playoff matchups weeks 14-16?

My vote is for Moss having the most value going forward.

Speaking as a Wayne owner the past two seasons (but not this one) he has flat out sucked in the second half of the last two years. Trade him at the peak of his value in the next couple weeks before he falls off the cliff again.

:lmao: :lmao:
Wayne.Favre is gonna break down (physically) IMO.
 Haven't we been hearing this for the past 18 years or so?

Last night's game showed that Moss is a tall WR with good hands, who still takes many plays off. It also showed that he no longer has elite speed; I don't think he outran Cromartie on a single play all night.

Wayne because he's in every play.

No, at least... I don't think so. This elbow thing is problematic and we all know this is how it will end sooner or later. The only way Favre retires for good is when the body - specifically his ARM - finally lets him down. It has to happen sooner or later, and I think we may be seeing it now (this season).

Cromartie is fast, but can you imagine Moss of five years ago getting covered step for step on go routes all day, by anyone?

In the rain, against the Jets Front 7 and with a running game that was fairly consistent most of the night? I think you are being overly critical of a guy that was traded to Minnesota less than a week ago, but played and produced down the stretch.

What does the rain or the running game have to do with it? I'm saying that Moss used to have the ability to blow by defenders; he had a top gear that no one could match, and he doesn't have that anymore. He's still fast, he's still able to use his body, arms and hands to make catches (as he did on his TD), but frankly, against man to man coverage he didn't really get open all night long.

From what I saw there would've been a lot more separation if Cromartie wasn't allowed to grab Moss. There was at least one blatant pull on the jersey early and it appeared that Cromartie was constantly hooking Moss' arms as he was trying to run with him. I agree that Moss isn't as fast as he was but he had only been on the team a few days and still put up good numbers against one of the better defenses in football.

Randy Moss may have lost a step but he's still faster than Wayne imo. And did you see the play where Cromartie just yanked on his jersey for a good 3 yards? If he hadn't done that Moss would have ended up with a big catch. It looks to me like he outran his coverage a few times.

I think once they get on the same page Moss will easily be the choice here. He's one of the most talented wr's to ever play the game. He's on the downside of his career, but he's still elite.

MOSS

1. He end up with more TD's then Wayne

2. He is faster then Wayne

3. Favre will feed Moss all the deep stuff, but Wayne has to share with many mounths in Indy

I see Moss with a higher ceiling, but higher risk. Just because Manning has so many weapons he can spread. While Favre has a "man-crush" on Moss and will stubbornly keep throwing to him until his arm falls off (which it might).

"I too live dangerously!"

I will take Moss over any WR in the league any day of the week. He has been and I think still is that talented. Wayne cannot do anything as well as Moss, even if Moss has lost a step. The only thing that will limit Moss is Favre's elbow. Moss has produced in two games vs the Jets. There won't be too may receivers that can say that this year, and that is the biggest test he will face. It is gravy from here.

Yeah, I hear ya. Chances are, eventually Favre is going to fall apart. My problem is, people have been trying to predict his demise pretty much his whole career. It hasn't happened yet, so I'm not even going to pretend to be able to predict when it's going to happen.

False and False. He did outrun Cromartie on the first bomb, but Favre under threw him and he had to slow down and then Cromartie was there. So, that's just plain false. As for taking plays off, I am so sick of this line. Show me one play where he "took" off. One. I watched the whole game and didn't see him take any plays off. False.

http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2010101100/2...@jets#tab:watch2:18. Cromartie is with him step for step.

3:03: Jogs a route on a running pay to the other side. I noticed several more like that, but they're not on the highlight reel.

Actually, it's 100% that he will. No human being to this point in history is immortal. HTH.Seriously, all those suggesting that people ALWAYS say Favre is losing it...the Favre nay-sayers WILL be right eventually - and as he gets older, the chances that they are right this time increases dramatically.
