Moss on Monday Night Football (1 Viewer)

Dr. No

Footballguy
on one hand the guy only gets a few days to work with a new system, a new QB, etc.

On the other hand, he is going to a place he's familiar with in Minnesota.. familiar surroundings, etc.

And Moss's deep type routes don't exactly require a lot of preparation or sophistication.. a la a Pro Bowl thing... and the Jets only get a few days to gameplan for how Minny might use Moss.

Then we've got Revis... great CB.. but is he truly "back"

I'm going with 3 for 39 with a TD

Revis better be 100% or else he is hurting his team being out there.

Revis 100% - Moss 3/38/0

Revis < 100% - Moss 5/125/2

Moss gets 10 targets, 2 catches for 13 yards. 7 of the targets come from Tavaris since Favre is carted off the field in the 1st half.

They are probably looking at the 1998 videos of Moss streaking down the field while Carter and Reed are running the other routes. Yeah, Favre can handle heaving jump balls to Moss. Moss can handle that route too. If Moss puts his hand up, Favre will see it and lock in regardless of coverage.

oh yeah...Berrian. he went from worthless to total non-factor.

Kind of cool for Moss owners. You get to plug Randy in every week, as he misses the BYE week this year.

I think he will have a nice 5-95 on MNF.

You may be right, but we've seen this year that even with Revis out, and Brady as a QB, and with Welker as a WR@, Moss didn't do much in the second half against Cromartie/Wilson Co. In fact, he had either 0 or 1 catch :excited:

I have no idea what to expect but I feel very confident in saying it won't be the enormous kick in the n**s Moss' last Monday Night game was for Moss owners.

I dont expect Revis to be completely 100% but I still think he plays if the doctors think he has a pretty good chance of not re-injuring it. However, I would bet that Cromartie actually covers Moss for most of the game. He completely shut him down in the 2nd half 3 weeks ago and he has the size/speed to stay on top of him. They will probably move Revis around alot.

Chase Stuart Time-Waster: When Randy suits up for the Vikings that'll be consecutive Monday Night games for him. Who was the last person to play back-to-back Monday night games in the same season? :goodposting:

It depends on whether the Jets use rookie Kyle Wilson or Revis on Harvin. He should put up good numbers against Wilson but keep in mind that with Revis and Calvin Pace back the jets pass rush will be much improved. Expect Favre to take some big-time hits from his former teammates.

Don't forget defending the the Vikes is completely different from defending the Pats.

When you play the Vikes you have to stop the running game and Peterson first; when you play the Pats you are looking to stop the passing game first.

Huge difference.

Moss will get his opps on Monday night.

Jets are ranked 3rd against the run this year, handling ray rice and ronnie brown/ricky williams pretty nicely already. ADP has yet to play against the jets in his career so it will be interesting to see what they can do. You know the Jets are stacking the box so I fully expect Favre to sling it freely..

I may have missed it, but any word on what jersey # he'll be wearing? It looks like 84 is available. If so, I predict 84 yards and 1 TD

I have come to the conclusion your just a Moss hater.

Ill be disappointed if the very first offensive play for Minn is not a deep ball thrown to a streaking Moss. Hit or miss - doesnt matter. Just want to see the attempt.

If there's anyone out there who's got Moss, who doesn't play him Monday night, they should just give up fantasy football.

Speculate away on possible stats, but bottom line is his upside is huge, screw the downside. You got probably the second best receiver in history playing his first game with one of the best QBs of the last 20 years, plug him in and sit back and watch.

I'd be starting Farve over 3/4s of the QBs in the league too!

Just one question for you. Is Favre better than Brady right now?

First game for Minnesota: 4 for 95, 2 TDs

First game for Oakland: 5 for 130, 1 TD

First game for NE: 9 for 183, 1 TD

I'd start Favre this week over Brady. :boxing:

Man Revis must really feel like  right now. Just as he comes back from an injury Randy Moss caused by torching him he gets to play expectantly against.... Randy Moss.

I have no idea what to expect from Moss this week. I don't think that Moss' addition is going to change the fact that Minn is a Peterson team 1st and foremost. Moss is going to greatly help Peterson's results by the attention he takes away from the running game and I'm sure Minn is looking forward to that just as much, if not more, as they are to watching Favre launch 50 yd passes towards Moss. One thing that is undeniable is that Moss is hands down the best receiving option on Minn. He is an aspect of this team that Favre has desperately needed since Rice went down in the preseason. It seemed as though NE was hell bent on phasing Moss out of their offense when the season started this year. Maybe they had already decided that they were going to try and move him? Well, there is no way Minn is not going to take full advantage of Moss' abilities IMO. You don't bring a guy like him onto your team at this stage of the game and under these circumstances to not fully utilize his talents. I don't think Favre is going to laser lock onto Moss in game one but he will certainly want to try out his new, world class toy and weapon. Moss will get opportunities in this game and I'd venture to say he will get better opportunities because of Peterson being in the backfield. I think he will be isolated more than normal (unless Revis is struggling with the hammy still and NYJ try to protect him) and therefore Moss will get his so long as Favre and him can develop enough chemistry in such a short amount of time. I think Moss and Favre will have success quickly bonding on the field because of their experience as vets.

I'm going to take a stab of results in the range of:

5 receptions, 135 yds, 1 Td.

Do you really think Favre wont want to use his new toy all the time? I can Peterson loosing carries when the gun slinger walks through the bat wing doors. What this may do, is tire out the D, as they will be on the field more now that the gun slinger is back. When Moss plays the seive Pats D this year, coupled with no effective pass rush, I expect him to have 12/177/4 numbers to rub it in.

Yeah apparently the vikes might go after Brady too.. Harvin, Welker same difference.. gotta love the edit button.

I'm debating whether to start Favre or Shaun Hill... :banned:

17-16-16-3...pts given up each week by St Louis, with 4 TDs against (3 passing)9-14-23-14...pts given up each week by NYJ, with 7 TDs against (6 passing (including 4 for Henne and Fitz))I'd say Favre monday night pretty easily.

Yeah, but Favre's off to a bad start and Hill has been puting up decent numbers. In my league (and so far in the FBG projections for this weekend) Hill's outscoring Favre...

Does anyone else have both Harvin and Moss? Who to start, and who should we look to trade? I have to think one of them is a sell high right now with all the hype. Or do I sit back and see who benefits the most?
